RE: Trade and Sales threads on the boards. Please read!
Hey everyone

For a while when the system was new and everyone was learning it, we would just lock the sales threads and give a quick explanation why. Now it has been a while and most people should know the rules. The whole purpose of the new system is to use the "Organize" feature to initate trades/sales and find stuff you need. Remember these things about the new system:

-All trades and sales are to be made through "Organize"

-There are some really good reference materials on how to set up you "My Organize" to start selling/trading, Including a great sticky thread in these Hockey message boards.

-Any sales threads from now on will be deleted

-Read the TOS (link at the bottom right corner of this page)

Have fun!

Ok, I understand where your going with this.....But.....I find when someone has posted that they want to trade, I will always look at there cards for trade. How do you find who is trading the cards you might be looking for?.... Its prolly shown somewhere, I'm sure, but beets me where this is. And what is so wrong with someone posting some great hits, and telling peeps they are for offer, and then going though the right channels through "organize" to trade them?....For one reason I like the post's is because if they are new cards, that Beckett has NOT put up an image yet, I would then get to see what the card looks like before I even start a trade (cause they usually will post some scans.). Is this some sort of spam protection?...Is this really a big deal?...How bout put the hammer down on post's that include an e-mail address, instead of all post for trade?.....I'm fairly new here, and dont know if this a democracy here on Beckett, or if its a " do what I say , or else." kinda thing.....Plz enlighten me..

I agree that the concept of the trade tool is a great one.  I have successfully traded with several other beckett members;  However, I have also posted several potential improvements that could be made to make the trade tool more user-friendly.  Is there a better channel for suggested improvements...because it would seem that board posts don't make it to the IT developers.

Hey FranklinX

I think if you check out that stickied tutorial of how to trade here, most of what you want to know will be answered Smile.

But also, don't get me wrong, there is absolutly nothing wrong with posting you sweet breaks and showing the hits. I do that all the time with my box breaks and mail posts. Mentioning that they could be for trade is also no big deal as well, as long as you go through the proper routes (Organize). I don't see a problem with showing off you cards from breaks and mail and mentioning they are FT through your organize. It's the posts that are started with the intent to only trade or sell and not to show off a nice mailday or box break in the first place that are not what the message boards are for.

Good question dgarwood!
I am not sure who exactly you would contact for making suggestions like yours. If anyone here can shed some light on that, it would be appreciated.

RE: Trade and Sales threads on the boards. Please read!
Hey everyone

First off, I edited the original reply as it appears I was a bit misunderstood of a couple things. I'm a new MOD, my bad Smile!

When it comes to trade and sales threads, the rules were not 100% what I suspected. Here is how it is:

Sales threads are still looked down upon and will be deleted etc.... However for the sake of getting people to use the trade tool, it is ok to have trade threads, so long as you are going to use the trade tools in the end. We want people to get used to the tool and so long as you use it, there is no worry about starting trade threads. Another MOD and I talked about it and it was my understanding that both sales and trade threads were not what we wanted. However, that is not the case as I have just mentioned. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused! Happy trading!

I have never really used this site until yesterday.  I posted a thread looking for 08 09 opc retro rainbow cards.  Last night I noticed it was gone.  Was it deleted?  Where do I put a thread looking for cards?  Thanks

Hey there fordsrule99

Yep, it was deleted, based on my incorrect interpretation of the rules. Like my last reply post, my bad Smile.

You can go along and repost your trade thread but I encourage you to use the Organize Tools as your trade system Smile. Cheers
