I dont have any Craven listed cause usually nobody wants them, so I went through like 10 boxes and found all I had and checked them against the list boris made then was going to add the 12 I found for him and thought I would see what he had for trade. And like most he has nothing listed.
I understand that a lot of the older members have there own way of doing things but I dont want to get booted for doing things/trades the wrong way. (even though you could do just about anything on the racing boards it seems)

How else you could have handled it is that if you truly wanted to help ME you should have sent ME a PM. Don't clutter the thread with useless responses. I have enough of those from myself in the 'bump' column and wish I could delete them like I can on other sites. Next time take it in private - its not illegal and it makes for a much less pretentious look.

I'm not going to argue that point terribly much - though I do know at least three other serious Craven collectors - but none to my knowledge are active on this board in its new form. Herein is one of my issues - my website lists everyone - from the highly traded Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon to the never traded generic checklist cards - why? Even though no one collects them - you never know when that no one will come along looking for them. I, at one time, tried loading up one years worth of traders - 2008. I hadn't bought much that year and only had about 150 cards to upload - and it took forever on here. I have cards ranging from 1988 Maxx through 2009 Wheels Main Event anda plethora in between - both those listed in the Beckett catalog aswell as hundreds not listed or incorrectly listed. I would venture a guess that if I would sit down right now and start adding all the cards I had that are in the catalog to my organize it would take me a week non stop to get them all on there - assuming the site doesn't go down anywhere in that time span.

You have twelve cards of Craven or you have twelve cards of Craven I list as needing? No offense - I highly doubt it if it is the latter. I've heard that song and dance before from various users across the trading card forum lexicon - and more often than not they have a card that is similar to what I need - a parallel or something I already have. On the off chance they are what I need - and I could describe to you in detail the looks/attributes of most if not all the cards I need as it appears Beckett only has a picture of one of them - I would gladly look at your wantlist and see what I have. And by golly if I have something you need - I'll take the time to add those to my organize. And if I don't - I'll go find it. The only trade I have ever pulled off on Beckett was with a football guy (which I don't do) that ultimately resulted in me going to a local card show and picking stuff up for him there to get it done. Ask anyone that has traded with me - because some of them are here but I have traded with them elsewhere - I will go to extensive lengths to pull off the trade - especially if you have a Craven I need.

Shelby has long been the voice of reason and sanity on Becketts racing board and it would serve them wonders to make him a moderator of their board. It might actually breathe some life into this dying board. He knows worlds about the sports history as well as that of the hobby. He is exactly what the hobby needs!

I do appologize to the creator of this thread, Sorry another thread got hijacked by the wanna be Mod police.
But as said before there is a PM system to help ppl out instead of screwing someones thread up. Shoot I even used it last week.
Honestly all the Mods, Admins, and wanna be's want us to use thier orginize system to trade and sell. Tell em how many ppl here wants to use something that is slow, messed up, isnt even correct, and is still in beta?
Secondly its not a highly sought after driver. What are you going to possible get for 12 Craven cards. I wish I had some left I would just give it to a collector.

Why is racing the only sport that does not thrive, either in trading or in the boards?
Football doesnt have a problem.... Baseball.... Basketball... Hell even Hockey does great here.
Some would say its because the way beckett changed or hasnt upgraded, and that everyone has went to another site to trade...and Im sure many have.
And if its so great... stay there, trade your hearts out...
But if youre going to trade here, do it right or do it illegaly though the pm system -as you have admitted to doing- or I the "wanna be Mod police" will get you!

This is becketts problem in a nut shell, there are wannabes [no offense at all] but beckett will not put a regular mod on this board. The current one is currently useless. When he was here he stepped on his tounge at least twice in the short time he was in office. I still have not figured out how he was picked for this postion. Its also in the way people are dealt with here. While what you said may not be bad, the board history has put an attitude in peoples hearts.

You come on this board make suggestions, try to get updates for cards that are missing, correct spelling errors in the opg and you get no response whatsover. However if you come on here and miss a procedure you get someone quickly on your butt.

Its the wrong way to handle a section. I personnally emailed the board master to first suggest that we needed a racing regular. told him of stuff that was being done wrong and he never even made an appearance. IF beckett doesnt care enough to patrol this board for TOS violations then no one else should give a crap.

And as far as not wanting to use the trade system.... thats on you. If you dont like it dont use it, period.

I dont agree with this, Its not a handfull of people that feel this way. I have been on the other sections and know there are still a lot of people that hate the new system. I also know for a fact that the other sports also had a lot of members leave for other forums and havent been back.

Plus beckett has already changed the way they do things becauase people didnt like it. They cant fix a problem if they do not know what the problem is.

I answer by starting with this. How long have baseball cards been around, football, etc. RACING cards for the most part [with some small exceptions] have only been around since 1988. The card companies will even tell you there is still a lot of the racing fans that are not aware there are racing cards.. Also with racing the companies have to deal with way too many individuals to get a card approved. There is no drivers union to aprrove everything. This chased out upper deck among others. The racing boards were fairly busy in the past. A lot of the big time and not so big time racing collectors started off on the original beckett boards. Way before you evidently started. We begged to get a racing collector made mod even way back then. This always fell on deaf ears. We had a problem with other sports collectors coming on to the racing board and trolling. After some of the bigger collectors got banned for hundreds of years we left.

They formed a site, one specifically geared to racing. Due to TOS I can not name it here but I can tell you. It in the current form is 3 years old. Has over 200 active members [numbers could be higher but they cull for lack of activity better to have quality than quantity]. Have over 10,000 topics and have reached over 100,000 posts. There are on average 100 members stop in every single day. Compare that to the racing section here. They were here but no one would listen so they left.

I still do not see what borissaidfan did that was wrong. I have seen on all the boards where someone lists here what they need and if they can get a deal going then they can go to the trade section. I have now used it and its cumberson. For a trade there is no real point to it. If your going to 'wanna be mod police' why not go to the other boards and hit the violaters of the sig size rules. I bet i can go on every section right now and find on the first page at least 2-3 violators including some of the real mods. A rule is a rule so if your going to hit people up on this issue then you should be policing it all.
