Is it a Memorabilia Card or Not!?
I read through all 49 replies to this thread.  I agree with nearly everyone's reply.  I went through the whole list looking for one thing. I finally found it near the end! If this is memorabilia, then why is 2007 Eclipse Skidmarks not considered memorabilia! Same concept, but you CAN feel the rubber that was used on the cards and it is on the front of the card.  If Skidmarks is not a memorabilia card, this one is no where near memorabilia. However, in my collection of NASCAR cards, if I click the MEM button- Skidmarks cards come up -even though they are not tagged as such!!! So how can ANYONE say they are or are not!  Again, 'Eyes of the Beholder' and apparently 'The Buyer' also!!!

Always looking for: Ozzie Smith/Stan Musial/Lou Brock/STL Cardinals, NFL-CAR/GB/NE and NASCAR-Jimmie Johnson/Mark Martin

i don;t think that its memorbilia because it doesnt have a piece of rubber or race flag or anything that would connect you to the action. It is an insert, but in my opinion that is about it. However, if you do want to sell or trade it, you can check out this new site www.thecollectorsbay.com All collectors are selling their stuff there.

Again still new at this
Do you have the set?
If you did you would want it worth more money.
I know I would.
Is it green (yes but who cares it is racing)
Is it memoribila? Like the card owner wants!!!!! I say no.(heck no)
Isn't everything a byproduct?
If it was used in an actual race or sport, I say OK but a by product?
Why don't they make cards from their sponsors?
We could have cherrios?
Viagra?
Maybe an insurance form? Aflac
Thats funny
I could go on and on

Sorry for the double post.
But I think if the drivers card has the sponsor's tire (and only the sponsor's tire ink then it would be valid.) You can"t mix all the tires together? Now if the company could support that it might be memoribilla. Just my thoughts.

Go Cubbies!!!!!!!!!!!

IN my opinion the material they use on these cards is what drivers call the marbles on the track little tiny pieces of rubber which can get a car loose i think they should use this technology in conjuction with a real memrobelia card like the trading paint cards but if they insist on leaving them as a solo card then they should not call these memrobelia cards i think a good idea would be to gather the tire material off the track after the race and then make a card with the winner of that race on it using this technology the card should show the winner actually on the track at the track that the material was gathered from then this set would be worth actually collecting and MAYBE calling a memrobelia card

I think that this card they will find  confusing in the future.......

(20 years later)
hey check out this card i found.......
lets check bekett....
It's listed as a memorabelia card.....
There is no visible memorabelia..... so why is it listed as such?
all beckett says is memorabelia card..... doesnt say what makes it memorabelia  just that it is.....
but it cant be....... we must have the wrong card........

Maybe instead of  assigning race used rubber to a specific driver......try it as race used rubber from a specific race like Daytona  or All-star..... and maybe the top 5 or 10 drivers from that race get a card or something.........

could the rubber be melted down and formed into sheets and then have the cards printed on the rubber directly??????  Sorry I'm not familiar with the technicalities........ Has it been done already?????

interesting topic...  good luck........

Yes, I apparently won.  I didn't check my Beckett mail for the past month as I have been moving and when I checked today I had a message saying that I won.  I just gave them my address, so it will probably be a week or so before I see what I won.

I received the card in the mail yesterday.  It is a nice dual memorabilia card numbered to 99:

2008 Wheels American Thunder Head to Toe #HT11 Elliott Sadler

I will trade it for a nice Gator football autograph.
