The Second SPx Baseball Mystery Redemption Is...
Clayton Kershaw, arguably the best pitching prospect in the minors, recently reached the big leagues with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also reached an autograph agreement with Upper Deck, giving the card maker the chance to name the young lefthander as the player to be card #151 in the 2008 SPx set. Collectors holding Mystery Redemption card #RR6 can now claim the signed Kershaw card.

“Clayton Kershaw has a tremendous amount of upside,” says Steven Judd, Upper Deck’s baseball product manager. “He elevated his game quickly to make it to the big leagues and collectors should be excited about his future. Playing for a big-market franchise like the Dodgers could catapult him to unbelievable heights in the hobby, provided he performs at the level people are expecting.”

Upper Deck will announce a new rookie redemption player every week until all seven players have been revealed. Kershaw joins Jay Bruce of Cincinnati (card #146 or RR1) as the first two rookies to be announced in this program. Upper Deck’s 2008 SPX Baseball is available now at hobby stores.
