BGS promo: Up to 67% discount on crossover services to BGS/BVG - Only until Feb
I know graders are suppose to be unbiased, but wouldn't the original grade sway the person regrading the card?

Not to mention they are regrading cards that were graded by their competition. You know, kind of like beckett valuing their graded cards a lot higher than their competition in beckett's own investors price guide. I'm sure if sgc or psa issued a price guide, their cards would be worth more than what it is listed in beckett's guide. Not saying that beckett low balls crossover grades, but I always wonder in the back of my head if they do. After all, it is humans grading these cards not an emotionless machine. With humans you get human judgement/errors.

That's why I prefer to crack the cards myself and submit them to beckett, to try to eliminate any bias beckett has towards the competition. If beckett has the 25/5 deal they had in october, then I would recommend waiting for something similar of a deal. However if you can't wait, then this deal is decent.

I have a very rare michael jordan card signed by john salley!!!

I'm not too familiar with their price guides of graded cards, do they have prices for just their graded cards or everybody's? If they do list the prices of everybody's, how much do their prices differ from beckett's? Sorry for asking so many questions.

Could you please link me to beckett's $5 deal, they don't have anything on the grading section nor did I get an email about this deal, thanks.

Does anyone know what the policy is on upgrading BCCG cards to BGS? Would this follow the same pricing scale?

Also, any news of a bigger discount for slower service?

I am no college football expert, but that looks like an unlicensed card, and I don't think Beckett grades those.

Can I send in some cards that have been hand cut from sheets to you guys because I have two of those that PSA wouldn't touch for a crossover(I tried).  BVG seemed to have no problem grading them.  I can't believe that Beckett would grade hand cut vintage cards like one of those bush league grading companies like GEM or PRO.  Simply unacceptable Beckett.  You guys won't be getting anymore of my money!!!!!!!!!

Also have a Derek Jeter graded by a company called Allstar Grading company that I want to get cross graded.

I'm sure you can try and cross the the gem and allstar graded card, They were most likely not mentioned as the Industry considors these companies a Joke due to having a very high percentage of altered cards residing in their slabs...

If it's not altered considor yourself lucky, then you only have to deal with the overgraded factor as these companies slap a "10 gem mint" on nearly anything that touches their hands.

Hence the reason you will see for instance a BGS 9.5 scottie pippen 1988 fleer rc sell for 400.00 and a Gem 10 scottie pippen rc sell for 15.00

Very questionable slabs that many shy away from.

Just an update I spoke with a gentleman at Beckett on the phone yesterday and he did clarify that any grading service that isn't run by Beckett is eligible for this special.

Naturally there's still the chance of the card being altered, but I'm praying it checks out ok! Will post update when I get my stuff back.

Just want to make sure I understand correctly before sending in a Crossover submission.

If I put "No Minimum Grade" on the form then I do not have to pay the review fees?  I am submitting 4 cards, can I only put a minimum grade on 2 of those cards and not pay $3 per for the other 2 cards?

I've never sent in a Crossover order.  Any tips on the best way to package?

Thanks.

Haven't got mine back yet but I packaged it the way I would a normal grading - between a cardboard sandwich, taped together with packing tape, then stuffed packing peanuts in the spaces of tape that were there. Put it in a box, that previous graded cards have arrived in, and put more packing peanuts for shock absorption. For the record it was 6 PSA slabs, 1 gem slab, and 1 All Star slab (poor man's PSA slab). I have another bundle of PSA slabs (10) ready to go for next pay day in a cross grade, already packaged in the same way. It makes a nice tight compact bundle - easier than a standard submission since they're already in the rigid thing.

Good luck to you! I'm excited to see how my cross grades come back.
