OT: My final game as a soccer coach today
I could go on about how close it was and all the ups and downs, but this picture of my players behind me sums it up best:

I plan on moving to the Syracuse area, so today was my last affiliation with the Aurora Arsenal Soccer Club. I've been a part of the club as a player and coach for about 17 years! My coaching record in the 19 and under division over three years was 13-13-1, which makes me the Drew Bledsoe of coaching  Just felt like sharing! Any of y'all coach? It was fun while it lasted!

Current Player here and will be playing in college this coming year. Just a great sport and has been such a huge part in my life. I plan on definitely going back and coaching after my playing days are done.

 Its funny you say that - the league released a list to every coach last week detailing several new rules put in place because of my coaching techniques. Two full pages! I think it was my time to leave even if I wasn't moving

I just signed my kids (son-7 daughter-6) up to play today for this fall. It was $30.00 a piece. This will be their second year playing. It was fun watching the kids playing at this level as some of the kids would go the wrong way and kick into the wrong goals unintentionally despite the facts they had fun and enjoyed doing it! I didn't know much about soccer till they started playing. I spent a lot of time reading up on the sport and watching soccer games so I can help my kids so when the coach isn't around I can maybe answer a question or two at least. Just helps me to be a better dad too I think!

Questions:

Wait a minute, you played on this girls team previously?!?

At least you're not the Rob Johnson of coaching!

I didn't know you were into the soccer mom scene!!!

Two pages of rule changes just because of you? You must've been teaching your players wrestling moves!!! Eye Gouging, low blows etc.

Im a High School Football coach. Varsity defensive co. this year. Coached 2 years of JV and moved up to varsity last year. I coached for them right out of high school ( Im 21 now ) and have alot of fun doing it. Will start the police academy later this year so this is likely my last year coaching.

I'm guessing you're right as both require huge time commitments. Goodluck.
