Actually, THEY should compensate for the inconvenience like all good companies do.  I'll let everyone on here and on Youtube know what happened due to this inconvenience and error.

dfr52 makes a good point, and it has been discussed before on here.  But the most you will get out of Beckett is credit for grading in the future.  They wont reimburse you for shipping, I have tried that more than once.

Thanks for supporting the shipping argument but I agree it's not going to happen through any of the companies.  If free grading coupons are offered that's nice, but not so great if you don't send cards in often.

What do you mean compensate? they will fix the "minor" error, what else do you want??

In this case I think fair compensation would be to cover the re-slab and the shipping cost since the card belongs to the original submitter who already paid for the service and the return shipping.  This will not happen though so hopefully some free grading coupons will be issued.

I'm sure you did not pay $148 for that one card. As a Cal Ripken collector, i'd keep the card as is.... Let me know if you want to trade it. PLEASE...

 no major mistakes like that are okay, i just got my first 4 card lot back yesterday and they screwed up 3 of the 4 cards. and one of them they ruined. it looks like the the person that worked on it is on commision and threw everything together it to seconds. i had a really nice 2008 leaf limited kevin smith auto dual patchs total of 5 colors #49 and they put it in on a angle and the whole top corner got dinged up real bad. then on a awesome 2006 turkey red reggie bush sp rc /50, was in superb shape got 2- 9.5, and a 9, and then 8 for corners, which should be a 9 mint but they wrote 8.5. and the corners where not even toached. also they sent my tom brady rc card back and they top of the case is cracked and missing a piece. So of course i called and of course get stuck leaving a message and still have not heard from them. I will tell to I just paid for a platium membership which was almost $300, and was supose to come with a steiner auto. 4 weeks after they got paid and i got a letter and my certificates for grading and no auto. so i called and left 2 messages with the person that deals with this sought of stuff, and he didnt call untill almost a month later when all of autos where gone except hockey. so please dont say mistakes are okay, for the money they get, and for what we trust them with, they need to double and triple check things. I trusted them with some of my pride and joys, things that took me years to track down, and numbers of websites went through to find the right card for the right price. And they mean loads to me, one of my faviorate card is a tom brady rc, it doesnt book high but i love that card and him as a player. and i intrusted them to take extreme care of. would you guys knowing send your high cards to get graded to place that you new they might get messed up, and then still stuck paying to get it back to them and then back to you again??

Sorry to hear about that especially w/ the amt. of money you had invested in the cards and the grading.  The companies in general need to be better about this. I believe this is at least the second time I have read about damaged cards the past few months.

8.5 is correct.  It is not simply an averaging of the 4 grades.

I agree.....with 2-9.5, a 9 and an 8, they can only grade it 1/2 point above your lowest sub.

For future reference:
If we mislabel a card, you shouldn't be charged return shipping fees if you just send that card in. And we process recases/relabels immediately (unless you include them as part of another order).

As for waiting a full month to get your cards back... If you chose the 20 day service level, it will take four weeks. All orders are in business days, not actual days. The service starts the day after we receive your cards, and we do not miss our deadlines.
