Here is the reason. For some trade reasons, Canadians are not allowed to "win" a contest from an American card company. Both Topps and UD had to come up with a simple enough question to add an element of skill that had an easy acceptable answer (Celebrity Jeopardy skits from SNL comes to mind). Look at old Topps Draft redemption cards, They have a similar mathematical query. All-in-all, it is not racist, just their way of letting Canadian collectors in on the fun, while not breaking the laws in place that "protect" them from winiing anything.

ok thanks for clearing that up, I knew of the rivalry and forgive me if I interpreted along those lines, but you can see how to an outsider, a comment like that may be interpreted differently. I did think along those lines being outside the country, one might have to do something extra, but the was it was worded and knowing of a huge rivavlry between the two countries got me thinking. Well I had a giggle but was like wow I have to find out if this is a joke or what. Nah it's cool, my heading wasn't exactly a well worded one either.
I was thinking to myself surely this has to be explained, so thus, the reason why I posted trying to find out and draw parrallels with our own rivalvry we have with NZ when in fact is had very little to do with anything like that at all. ![]() No probs, I have my answers, post dead. |

Good thing the Canadian government took the important time to protect their citizens from the "American devil" prizes. Too bad they left open a huge loophole. Nice to see other governments be as inefficient as ours. It's kinda like the reason why card companies have to offer NPN entries, because otherwise, buying a pack of cards where an insert is inserted 1 in 6 packs would be considered gambling.P.S. Those Jeopardy SNL skits were classic. I collect Aaron Rowand, Bears and White Sox GU, autos. I am trying to complete some sets too. Especially for 2002 flair football. No problem, but at least we now know that for whatever reason, you feel that we are out to belittle you Aussie or new Zealand people (btw, what race are you when you mentioned the word racism?) I am part of the Human Race and unless you are an alien, we are all the same. We are all earthians. Sorry to bring this up "again" but you brought it up first, and that will draw some undesired responses unfortunately. |
