It means jack....they have been saying that since the new site switched over....they even said that to people including me who originally participated in the closed beta testing....and then launched with all the problems still.

Melvin (or anybody else).....could somebody please give me a real quick version of what the Registry is, or was?  I've been reading these posts for awhile now and I guess I never caught on previously or was even aware there was a registry or what its function was for our collections.  I guess a sentence or two about its benefits or capabilities as I honestly have no clue of what a BGS registry is.

I own a couple hundred BGS slabs (baseball, basketball, football, some hockey) that I have compiled through eBay, all kinds of vintage to mostly modern rookies, autos, some Boston players, other players I collect etc.  I have never submitted any myself although I do own some rare gem mint rookies and SP's I guess I just have always felt that Beckett may grade more lenient to the people who send in hundreds at a time.  If a registry allowed one to logistically categorize and present their collections to others for public viewing (what I am guessing the registry is) this would be an awesome feature as I do have some very rare and low pop BGS 9.5's.  Whatever ends up happening with this thing I would never switch over to another company (PSA, SGC, etc) because I like the visual appeal of the BGS gold label (especially old labels) and the case is more secure for long-term storage and presentation anyway, not to mention BGS has earned a reputation for being very tough on subgrades and grading in general.  Any info on the registry (not its current status so much, just what it is or was or could be) would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

And DavidAZ I saw one of your posts somewhere about your '08 Peterson chrome refractor 9.5, I wanted that one!  I think it ended up ending for $10.50 or something like that... Let me know how we could make this happen somehow!

to see what the registry was go to psa and click on set registry as for now there is no registry just this stupid organize think which isnt bad for raw cards

Yeah I clicked on that "organize collection" and it all seemed to be just for raw cards.  Hopefully if they care about increasing interest in their product in these times of a buyer's market, more competence will come to whoever is responsible for updating/implementing this on the BGS end.

I wish I could've seen what the old registry was like from what some of you have posted.

Here are some differences in the "old" and the "new" ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Old go to your registry you created, enter card in registry, and cards info automatically inserted into registry--could add your picture at the same time also

New look up card, add to organize, go to organize, "add to a collection" which hopefully was your former registry, then go to the specific collection you just added it to when you want to see all the cards you tagged as such,,, and now its there,,,,,,

Old-- type in "look up player" and every public registry under that player would come up,,,,,,, you could even find out how many private registry's there were by using tabs located on the side of the main page,,,,,could also do it by set easily as well as other searches,,,,,

New-- cannot look up player/set at all,,,, time out,,, and if you do see information,,,, pop report info and graphs I have discovered may be weeks or even months off,,,,

Old see pics, print out checklists of cards in that registry,,,
New-- no pics, unable to print out checklist of cards in that registry,,,,

Old--- could see what you had graded and what you still needed graded for say a basic set of a player as teh ones graded were bolded and the ones not done yet showed faded but visible,,,,,

New-- cannot see what you have graded versus what you still needed because the only way to see anything is to see it all,,,,

Old-- could view new registry's as they got created as a checklist showed them,,,,,,
New-- no such function exists,,,,,,

Old--- could see set completion ratio, player completion ratios, registry "points", your grade level in comparison to "top" condition i.e. could see it was 8.48 versus say 9.10),,,,, was nice to see so you could see yourself upgrade stuff,,,,,,

New--- no such animal exists,,, you have no idea what anything is because all the "registry" is now is a set of tags in "organize",,,,,,,,

Old could see a master leader board of registries on the site and view them as you desired,,,,,,,,
New-- Again, no such animal exists

I could continue but you get the picture

Wow, thanks Jeff.....very informative.  Somebody should shoot your thread to Mr. Beckett himself.  I hope if the OLD registry had all of these features that the new one if ever completed would be even better.  Makes no sense to fix something that apparently wasn't broken in the first place.

they have been singing that song for months and months.  Sorry to burst your bubble.  Beckett has become a joke....I have not even bought any more BGS Favre cards on Ebay in over a month and will not.
