The new BGS registry
do they read this?  has Beckett addressed this at all?

No registry listing is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree that it's ridiculous.

A BIG part of what drives people to grade is their competitiveness and obssessive behavior to be ranked high and to have the best set. Without a registry, how are people supposed to know where they rank? If Beckett has a functional registry, more people will submit more cards to be graded.

The new BGS registry
I don't think beckett completely ignores the customers on purpose, but I do think they got overwhelmed by the complaints about the new registry. My theory is that beckett probably thought the new registry was going to blow us (customers) away by adding new features and making it more interactive. Instead we blitz them with complaints and they are probably in shock now. They don't know what to do now, whether to go back to old registry, fix the current one, or design a completely new one. It's kind of like someone telling a joke and nobody laughs, and then the person is frozen and doesn't know what to do next.

The registry is a big part of the hobby, so beckett will have to fix it. All we can do is wait and wait and wait, but for how long.......

I have a very rare michael jordan card signed by john salley!!!

Beckett is going through restructuring.  They where sold again.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if this has any effect on BGS or the registry (or lack of).

The new BGS registry
Great Job with the new registry guys!!!  I love it so much that I am in the process of crossing over my 99 atomic refractor set that I have been working on for 2 years over to PSA!!!  You guys would have had better luck keeping me if you would have left the registry alone and charged a collectors club fee like PSA does.  I think its great how you guys talked this new beckett website up for so long and now 90% (I am probably being conservative here) of your "customers" hate it and want it switched back.  This topic has been beaten to death for months and months but you guys still don't get it.  This website is completely ridiculous and I just deleted my registries or whatever they were from this website.  You must have had people that had no interest in cards or the registries test this crap out for you guys because nobody that had registries on here would have ever gone for this.  Well, bye.

I agree with you and although I only have about 11 BGS cards, I will crossover soon in the next 2-3 months if they don't get this fixed (and fixed soon).  What don't they just switch back? Or start with a simple registry? GAI did the same thing with a lack of a registry, and they really never got off the ground because of it...now Beckett destroyed their registry and created something Dr. Frankenstein would have been proud of.

Beckett will not switch back to the old registry because that would indicate that "someone" did not know what they were doing.  Obviously this "someone" has a lot of pull within Beckett and as a result they have been allowed to continue to screw with Beckett's loyal customer base (even in the face of overwhelming customer dissatisfaction).

Honestly, I don't think PSA, SCG, or any other competitor could have done a better job of sabotaging Beckett's registry.
