I thought I would start a thread for everyone out there to have input as to when new soccer sets come out. One of the things that frustrate me most as a soccer collector is not knowing when new sets come out. If everyone helps, I think we could all help our fellow soccer collectors with this information. So everyone speak up and let everyone know when there is a new soccer release. The larger ones I know of from this year include:

2008 Panini Euro 2008 cards (2 different sets)
2008 Upper Deck MLS
2008/2009 Topps Match Attax
2008/2009 Panini UEFA Champions League
2008 Futera World Football Unique

I could only speak for the 2008 Upper Deck MLS set which came out sometime in September. I think that this is crazy, the season is half over before the cards come out. Fans cannot buy them at the Stadiums which I think is a huge mistake for Upper Deck. And with many of the players are traveling oversees, fans loose out on the oppertunity to get the cards autographed by the players, which many fans enjoy.
If Upper Deck had any interest in selling there 2009 cards they would issue them in March of 2009, Their contract with MLS would mandate the sales at the stadiums, and their salemen would have them displayed for sale at local corner stores.
I don't know thats how TOPP's baseball cards sold 30 years ago.

My son and I bought a load of 08 UD MLS at a United game at RFK in September.  $2 pack and every concession stand in the stadium had them.

I agree they should be out earlier in the year though.

Its a great idea to have an overview about upcoming releases!
The new Futera Set should be releases in couple of weeks, looks like they changed a lot. A pack will me much cheaper compared to last years collection and the base set includes now 400 Players. Plus they created inserts like Legends...
In Germany we wait for the first release of a card series done by Topps, looks like in Januaray the first german version of Match Attax will hit the shops...

Let me know what you could need from that german MA, I am sure I will be able to get some!

I wonder how many Fabregas cards there are going to be in the new Futera. This is going to be interesting how a large set is accepted. Futera has always had good quality with their product with smaller sets.

I think I have seen a Checklist already on their page...
The really need a better worldwide distribution. Doyou now any shop where you can buy Packs of Futera? Or does Futera only sell directly to customers?

My guess would be that Fabregas has at least 2, maybe 3 stickers in this set...

nice thread here. one thing i hate about most soccer sets is that they are a game also ? what is up with that ? i dont want game cards. i want trading cards.

i get confused with the different releases because im not sure where my favorite players play. so i dont know if i should get the spanish league box. the topps merlin .......... get my drift ?  

i think the new futersa cards are also a game. topps or upperdeck should come out with a set that has all the top players from around the world. can someone tell me what is the true cristiano ronaldo rookie ?
