Why so few stock photos?
As the leader in hobby collecting, shouldn't beckett have more photos of cards?
I can understand not having all the 1/1's or even the </25's, but at least more of the bases and hi numbers should have photos. And why not have like a stock photo of something #'d to 999 and use that for the /399 and /25 when the card image is the same. It doesn't seem like it should be to difficult for them to get these from the Manufacturers. Why so few stock photos?
Thats what I was wondering. I even uploaded some of my own images, but stopped because they dont show up on the main page. When I look at my organize, I dont know what cards have pictures I uploaded and what ones dont without clicking on the blank image.

There is still some work to be done on the image side of things and it is something we plan on working on
![]() We do not typically receive many card images from the manufacturers, so many of our stock photos come from the collecting community. Once we get the image upload program updated, you should start to see more stock photos. Thanks, Bill Bill S. Thanks for that. You would think with all the support you guys give to the companies (i.e. Product Reviews, Advertising, Promotions), and just the fact that Beckett has been the only real dominant name in the collecting business (at least all of my life) for who knows how long, that you could get images for at least the base cards/inserts. Has anyone at the company tried this?

Although Beckett runs "upload image"contest, I think there so be more pics overall. Personally, I would update 2500+ images of Mark Brunell for Becket EXCEPT I don't like the fact that the submitter does not get credit for it (watermark) and then ALL Beckett Marketplace Sellers just use the "stock" photos for themsleves. In addition, stock photos are often used as for scams as in "I have this for trade" when in fact they don't own it.
Simply the most complete/comprehensive single player collection! PERIOD! Now with 238 #1/1s and 96.4% completion out of 3379 Beckett listed items! ]

I see your point, but with or without images, I can put any card I want in my organize and then trade it for anycard i want from you. There is nothing to guarantee either of us actually own the cards we have listed. I don't know how trades are policed on this site, but until you lose your card there is nothing anyone can do to prevent scammers, and then it's too late!

(i hope that made sense...it did to me. lol) ![]() my sportsbuy/naxcom i tems |

In addition, stock photos are often used as for scams as in "I have this for trade" when in fact they don't own it. I have a little watermark on the corner of every picture I've uploaded. I know they don't show up for everyone off the default, but it is there. I read through the rules, and there wasn't anything against it, in fact, it seemed to me like there was enough breathing room in them to let you do it. If I misinterpreted something, then of course I'd fix, but if not, it's quick and easy to put one on, and I highly suggest it you've got some high ends to help stop scammers. |

Mostly the scammer steal the photos from your photobucket account, and just because there is a watermark on it, doesn't mean they can't use it, because there are photo editing programs, that will allow you to remove the watermark. Also, there have been members on here that have stolen scans from other members, and have used those scans to claim they owned those cards, when in fact someone else did, ask savagescott (his id on the old board, don't know his new one), there was a guy on here that stole all the scans from scotts pc buckett, and claimed they were his own pc buckett LOL. the bucket http://postimage.org/Shez WANTED: 2006 FLAIR SHOWCASE SIGNATURES #/35 |
