Watch out how you celebrate that goal boys & girls!
Watch out how you celebrate your next goal boys and girls. It could be dangerous!
Story from http://www.soccermogul.com Watch out how you celebrate your next goal boys and girls. Last weekend in MLS play Fabian Espindola deflected a long shot into the net with a glancing header. He immediately ran back to midfield and in celebration did a frontflip. Unfortunately, he didn't quite hit his landing. He did land on his feet, but with a very surprised look on his face. He walked over to the sideline in front of the Real Salt Lake bench and sat down for medical attention. It seems in all his joy he broke his leg landing his front flip! He was subbed from the match and will be out an indefinite length of time as he recovers. The final irony of the story??? The goal was ruled offside and disallowed! So the moral of the story is to watch those goal celebrations! They could be dangerous. |

Watch out how you celebrate that goal boys & girls!
When I was in high school, I sang soprano in our church choir every other Sunday. One of our ushers had a friend in the music industry that would some times stop by when he came into town. One Sunday he stopped me after the service and told me he'd like to let some one of his associates here me sing. I went home elated that day.
Don't worry this isn't some random story, it relates directly to your post. Well me and a friend down the street use to go to Wal-Mart all the time and make our way back to where they have the TV walls. We'd watch sporting events and pretend to be Sports Commentators; sometimes small groups of customers would come by and watch sometimes even joining in themselves. Well one day when we were there a soccer match was playing, we thought it would be hilarious if we could see who could hold Goooaaaaaaaallllllllll! the longest. When the first goal was scored he took his turn and shouted "Goooaaaaaaaallllllllll!"eventually ending up on the floor coughing and gasping for air. Next it was my turn, now being in the choir I knew that I could beat him but I also wanted to be much much much louder. I don't remember who was playing but it was a good 20 minutes before someone scored, immediately after it happened I took a deep breath and shouted Goooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaallllllllllack achk achk. Now as you can see from the number of o's a's and l's that I beat him by a lot. But those ack achk achk at the end, those were the sound of the end of my music career. I had strained my vocal chords beyond repair. Sometimes when I'm asleep I'll have dreams where I can hear Pauline Viardot singing, I always wake up crying. |
