It's crap trying to find any info on this new site unless you happen to jag the specific search term you're after, so I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but (amongst everything else wrong with this site), this site is not compatible with IE6.0. Formatting is completely skewiff - I presume that they've probably been checking the % of users pre IE7 and decided it wasn't worth bothering to fix the site for them given there are so many other things wrong with it.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anybody else was running IE6 or earlier and having issues.

I'm curious ... how did you happen to find this out?  Is there some information source I'm missing somehwhere?

Thanks!  Garry

Yea aussie, apparently their developement team doesn't care. I sent them an email right after "launch" telling them about all the IE6 display issues, and this was their response:

"Thank you for your email. Try upgrading to IE7 or Firfox".

Obviously the Beckett webteam has never heard of Google Analytics - 30% of all Internet Explorer users are still using IE6.

I'm in the process of building a new PC, and have just installed IE7 on the new PC to replace IE6, and I'm often switching between that PC and an older one and therefore the different IE versions. A number of the site formatting issues are resolved on IE7 compared to IE6. Was noticeable on the saem PC after the browser upgrade. I'm sure we could have a look at the coding and see what they're using for the dynamic page construction, but it appears that they're using newer code that older browsers don't support.

Just another niggling annoyance, and something that should either have been resolved with even basic web design, or it is a conscious decision to specifically ignore older browser versions. Either way, not something I'm happy with as a user.

It's now just a matter of dealing with the poor site design and business decisions on the site than something that looks like it was coded by a kid on work experience  Smile

I agree, they have COMPLETELY RUINED this site!! I can not get over it how much it sucks now. What is terrible to me is that I used to LOVE Beckett.com and visited it every day. I have e-mailed them with my complaints, to no avail. Do they pay attention to what we think? It is absolutely hellish to try and navigate or use any of the tools that i used to depend on here. Anyone else feel the same way??

PLEASE, BECKETT, PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD WEBSITE. WHOEVER '"DESIGNED" THIS SHOULD BE SENT TO WEBSITE DESIGN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!!!!!

I prefer that when a company settles on a development platform that they ensure that the result works on the selected platforms browsers.

Also I don't think the City I work for is willing to willy nilly install Firefox when they still have IE6 as the standard.

Addtionally there are many more issues than just the wierd skewing in IE6, many javascript issues if entering multiple cards. They should add the check box ability in the product listing just like they do in the organize section.
