SO....A PSA 10 outweighs a BGS 9.5 on Becketts own registery?
Just doing some browsing and I noticed a registery with 3 PSA 10 cards this registery is worth 30 points and a registery with 3 BGS 9.5's is worth 28.5 points thus the PSA set gets a higher ranked on the leaderboard..
Right now the only way to stay even registery standing wise with PSA 10's is to have BGS 10's Thoughts? discuss....................

Yea, I noticed it when I was checking out my registry. I read your posts found else where and I was really surprised by the reponses. If members of those registries do add their cards I really can't see any true BGS registry staying in top position. Also, why aren't BGS 9.5's and PSA 10's equal? Is this an error or is BGS trying to tell us they aren't equal? I believe this to be a honest mistake they should be fixing soon. Maybe those of us who post here are in the minority on the registry issue. Day after day my frustration with the registry increases. |

It's really about a computer calculating 10 to be greater than 9.5. If Beckett were to calculate BGS 9.5 = or > PSA 10, then were does it stop? What about BGS 8 vs PSA 8? BVG 8 vs PSA 8? Then throw in the qualifiers, and everything's out of whack.
And if Beckett prioritizes BGS 9.5 = or > PSA 10, they would be accused of biased adjusting. It's already a fine line with popular pricing and grading under the same name. So I don't think it's too much to get excite about. I've seen in other post comments on this and Beckett people indicated there would be contests that included only BGS/BVG brands. And if things get out of hand, PSA outpacing BGS on their own site, then that could bring Beckett to look at running more specials. Maybe the competition is good, it would be easy for Beckett to close their eyes to PSA's website, but now they've invited them in. Anyway this goes, I still base my grading company on quality of slabs and trusted grading. |

Contests lol...Whens the last time they had one? 2005..And yes a BGS 9.5 should be equal to a PSA 10 for points on the registery they're both the Gem mint designation for each company Throw the best slabs and grading services talk out the window cause that has nothing to do with the problem here.. Some BGS registery folks Buy VERY aggressive for one purpose..To see their name #1 on the BGS registery for a said set..I think it's a bunch of crud that not only do we have to compete with folks who have a different grader of choice but now registery points add up in favor of the competitors slab... Like the 2nd poster of this thread He WAS in the #1 spot earlier today..Now he is #2 so lets wait till next month when the word really gets out he may be #14... Maybe I'm "exited" over nothing...But it just does not seem right to me..

Best part is that you can just enter in any serial# and claim it to be PSA. Thats what I did as a test and got cards into a registry with made up #'s.
I do not see why we need to see PSA. Maybe BGS wants us to start splitting our grading with PSA ? So we can take all our 9.5 and turn them into PSA10's ! |

I'm not sure if this was already explained...But how do you check the rankings for these registries??
Also, if these PSA collectors are overtaking BGS/BVG collectors in the registries, are their PSA serial #'s being accepted, or can anyone just say they own a PSA 10 of whatever card or set they want??
