BGS registery folks. Please come in and read.
BGS/BVG collectors are very passionate about their cards, and, as such, they care a great deal about their standings in the registries. A lot of time and money was spent building their collections, and the only scrap of recognition of such work came from the Beckett Registry. The inclusion of cards from other grading companies comes as a slap in the face to Beckett devotees.
As I've stated before on the old message board, many PSA set registries are at or near 100% completion. Now that they can waltz in here and enter their cards, the Beckett Registry will likely be taken over by PSA collectors. What's the point in collecting, say, 1975 Topps Football BVGs when there are 1975 Topps PSA registries over 90% complete? Should they decide to add their collection to the Beckett Registry, it'll be game over. I'm not sure if they'll be left off the leaderboards--they're still receiving points within the player and set registries (look at the 1989 Score Football as an example). As far as I'm concerned, cards from other grading companies should not be given any points, should not be used to calculate the average grade, and should not be factored in the completion rate. The descriptions of these cards, the grades, and the owner's comments can continue to be shown on the detailed view. However, all of the other data should be reserved solely for BGS/BVG cards. |

Well said VTO I guess beckett or there employees don't feel the same way as us since they probally don't have registeries and spend there hard earned money grading cards with BGS to add to these registeries....
I would like to know who the collectors are who "have been asking for beckett to allow cards from other grading services be added to registeries" I'm guessing they're the same people who asked that the sub grades be taken away from BVG. Another way of looking at this is..You say many customers have been asking that other grading companies cards be added to the registeries...Well we're asking that they not be..Are the "other" customers more important than US?? where are they at? I don't see them in these disscusions. stating there side... How about we put a poll up and ask how many think this is a good idea so that the beckett customers like myself and VTO can see with our own eyes this what the collecting comunity wants... I honestly feel like I wasted a ton of time and money building my BGS registeries. Like VTO said what a slap in the face.

Ok so I went to the 1989 score football set registery.... #3 on the leaderboard is user
rexvos1973 and his cards are all PSA graded. Not to mention this is a collector from the PSA boards who constantly Bashes BVG.... I can provide links from as little as a week ago. I've seen threads from this guy that state "another card ruined what a shame" because it was in a BVG holder. Now he's number 3 on the BECKETT leaderboard with his PSA graded stuff. It's gonna feel real good looking at our registeries getting barried by other companies graded cards. Real good idea beckett! Thanks!! You know what they say if you can't beat em join em maybe we all should STOP submitting cards to BGS/BVG and buying anything graded by them..After all we could still use the registery if we chose to have a different company grade our stuff...... http://beta.beckett.com/item/1976005/Football-Set/Grading/1989-Score/?tab=Grade#tabContent

The option to mix graded cards is fine for collections but Not for the registry. I could only imagine what the folks w/ PSA registries would do if PSA made this move. I think Joe O. would go into hiding.

For the second time in this BGS section, I've posted a new discussion that doesn't appear in the above discussion topics, but it still comes up in my profile so it's floating out there somewhere.
http://beta.beckett.com/group/456991/?tab=Discuss&p=450352#ViewArticle Missing Registry Items... I have some items that aren't being displayed in the BGS registry and I haven't found the common link yet. 1995 SP #50 Barry Sanders BGS 4026916 2002 Topps Pristine Refractors #122 Clinton Portis BGS 3234793 2003 SP Authentic Threads Triples #HMJ Harrison/Manning/James BGS 3105421 2005 Leaf Certified Materials Fabric of the Game Debut Year #1 Barry Sanders BGS 5594076 2005 Leaf Certified Materials Fabric of the Game Debut Year #38 Jim Brown BGS 4692654 2005 Leaf Certified Materials Fabric of the Game Debut Year #57 Peyton Manning BGS 5594079 Some of the cards were in the registry before the crossover and others have been added since. There hasn't been any errors while inputing the BGS serial numbers, so it doesn't appear to be an issue there. To fully discover my this list, I pulled up my total registry list in football (first time I got it without errors) and compared it with my list in my organize. I did this because I first noticed that not all my registered cards were showing up in my 2005 fabric of the game debut set. All of these items also appear to be missing from Player and Card registries too. I'm wondering if there's a bug causing this issue. |

Finally found you guys !
I didnt add or looked at my registery since D day. Are you telling me a dude from the PSA board, whit some PSA slabs, could take away my Geno Malkin #1 spot ? I think its a shame for all the sets builders that spent countless $$$$ on crossovers, resubmiting and all so they could have a nice BGS registery. People wont bother doing crossovers if they can load there PSA or SCG slabs. I dont mind that you can add other slabs to `my collection` but please keep them away from the BGS registery. Bill: Do you have a hockey registery ? Would love to see it if you do have one. Great to find back the regulars from the BGS boards !
