Not surprising to me

If I had pulled that card I would have expected $50+ for it

Good question! I was a little surprised at the end price(doesn't mean for sure though that the winning bidder will actually pay). Of course it is limited in production(/15) but it's just a base parallel. The fact that it is from a recently released product helps too. I think the main reason though is the fact that the card is of a player who was/is quite popular and that it is a refractor. As a refractor fan I know how attractive refractors can be. Men are suckers for pretty things; whether that be women, cars or cards.

That was my green ref that sold for $25. It may have helped that the serial number was 50/149, his jersey number. Some people are into that. No complaints here.

I will be going after the David Robinson master set in a month from now. I guarantee I will pick up these cards at less than half of the current prices.

Topics like this really upset me sometimes.

The people who are posting the "ZOMG Parallels selling for $50+? Are you kidding me?" are the same people that are posting "It sucks that only Patch/autos sell for anything over $50" topics.

You can't have it both ways in this hobby. I'd much rather have parallels selling high, it allows people to make their money back on boxes.

Better return on investment --> More people making the investment --> More people in the hobby --> Better products put out

This is all probably just because these cards are new on the market, but I can honestly say I'm HAPPY to see this. It's refreshing to see a product doing with that doesn't offer 40 GU per box or any of the outrageous prices that UD Black/Exquisite sell for.

Its a moderately priced box that offers a good return on investment without oversaturating the market with autos/GU. I say good for Topps, keep it up and hopefully UD will trend away from their present absurdity and move towards making decent cards.

Yeah, if Finest made a Penny Hardaway from this year like they did in the Chrome, that same card as the robinson would sell for close to $300 if not more. Old time collectors like low #ed parallels of the guys they collected in the 90s just as much as anything patch or autoed.
