We have a PS2 and my son plays the madden 07 very well with it along with some other games. We're looking to upgrade the gaming system and my question is probably the oldest question in the book but which is really the better system- XBOX 360 or PS3? I know with PS 3 you can play the older ps cataloged games. Can you do the same with the XBOX360? DO you have to have the remote on the 360 to play dvd movies? I know both controllers are wireless so how is the battery life on the controllers? Do I need to invest stock in Duracell...lol! We've tried them out at Best Buy but we're still not 100% sure. Which console has had the most problems too? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Go with the PS3 IMO, Have a 360 and have had nothing but problems the first one crapped out in 2 weeks and their replacements dvd drive is craping out and it will cost me 100 to have them fix it(or most likely I will by a new drive and swap the boards out)

As for needing a remote...no but both my consoles for some reason liked to skip forward at times.

Alot of people have not had any problems and alot have. If you need more info on the 2 systems go to Gamefaqs site and ask on each of the boards as you will get slanted opionions if you just post on one of the systems boards

I have an Xbox 360, it's great but i had to send it back twice but don't let that discourage you, i have the original batch, the one you buy now the issues have been taken care of prior to shipping.

The PS3 is great as well, one advantage over the 360 is the blue-ray player, if you have a HDTV you may want to grab a PS3.

IF the system is for you child only then get him a XBOX, it's cheaper and for now has a lot more games

and as for battery life on the 360 if you purchase one just get the play and charge kit as it will pay for its self in less than 2 months.

I have a 360 and love it. But, I've never played the PS3 so I wouldn't know. Although I've never had any problems with the 360.

xbox live and all of the awesome games you can buy and download make it worth it

just a rechargable pack you use instead of batteries you plug it into the usb port when it gets low and you can continue playing. They run between 20-30 bucks new. So since its for your kids(I know how I used to be) it would pay for itself in a matter of weeks:lol:
