I would like them slightly better if they were action shots, but I would still greatly perfer 1 card, 1 player. The only exception is if the players are closely related to each other. Hell, if bowman would have made that freeman/heyward I might be seriously in debt right now.

yes Eric, you and I would be mortal enemies by the time we were done buying.

Not to mention, very broke! lol

Another thought is that a really cool set to do this in would be UD Masterpieces. Here is a list of good moments that I think would garner some interest in addition to the ones you mentioned:

Wilson/Buckner 1986 WS
Gibson/Eckersley 1988 WS
Thompson/Branca 1951
These already exist in card form:

That's a pretty cool idea IMO, but I think they would have to be perfect pictures in between the pitcher and batter almost, so one is not noticeably bigger than the other. That is kinda cool though, it's kinda like having a big framed photo of a famous play in the history of baseball and having it signed by the players involved. Sweet idea.

Make the full action shot the 'parallel' card. It could still be a parallel if the back and design elements were all othewise the same. Also, to the OP, I don't see why this all has to be confined to RCs, all cards can have this.

How about this (or these)?

Have it signed by both Harper and Smith?

Or 1989 Upper Deck Kirby Puckett (sorry, no scan ready, but I'm sure many of you know what card I mean) with Mark McGwire signed by both? Oh, if only...

jiknudson Wrote:I support your good idea, intelligent but slightly unhinged prospector. I think an easier way to pull it off and have a good looking card would be to replicate the "superstar specials" out of Fleer in the 1980s or the earlier Topps multi-player team star cards from circa 1959. It's tough to get a good action photo of two guys, but if you have quality ones that show off each player well then use those two as part of the set.

Thanks, ( i especially appreciate the unhinged comment ).

SuperStar Specials would be easier and more realistic yes, but i'm thinking "Man wouldn't it be nice if".

They could even do famous plays, like the Jeter flip to Posada to get Giambi (jeremy). Or Mookie Wilson rounding 1st with Buckner looking backwards, Jackie Robinson sliding INTO the tag of Yogi Berra, etc.

I like the famous plays idea, and I think the poster who suggested the boxloader idea may be onto something. Another thought is that a really cool set to do this in would be UD Masterpieces. Here is a list of good moments that I think would garner some interest in addition to the ones you mentioned:

2007 Red Sox W.S. Celebration
2005 White Sox W.S. Celebration
2004 Red Sox W.S. Celebration
Moises Alou/Steve Bartman 2003 NLCS
Wilson/Buckner 1986 WS
Gibson/Eckersley 1988 WS
Sandberg/Sutter 1984 "Sandberg Game"
Fisk/Darcey 1975 WS
Bench/Seaver 1976 NLCS
Hank Aaron/Al Downing
Mazeroski/Terry 1960 WS
Thompson/Branca 1951

Rising Sons: Ichiro, Fukudome, Matsui, Matsuzaka
Yankee Greats: ARod, Jeter, Posada
Red Sox Sluggers: Ortiz, Ramirez, Varitek, Drew
Cubs Clubbers: Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, Fukudome
Call to Arms: Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Hoffman
Call to the Hall: Thomas, Griffey, Randy Johnson, Craig Biggio
Batter Bafflers: Beckett, Wang, Santana, Zambrano
Redbird Rippers: Pujols, Ankiel, Glaus, Ludwick
Brave Batters: Chipper, Francoeur, McCann
Terrific Tigers: Verlander, IRod, Cabrera, Ordonez
California Dreamin': Guerrero, Peavy, Martin, Lincecum
Sunshine State Stars: H. Ramirez, D. Uggla, B.J. Upton, Longoria

Just added a few more...

I think it would make for a great box topper.

I love the bucker / wilson, and the Eck / Gibson but i'm talking about action shots.

Did you read my post? I clearly said Prospects or Major League Players, I even give the example of Cole Hamels/Ryan Howard/Jose Reyes.

MudcatsFan Wrote:If you're going to put a couple guys on a card,,,,,why not send a photographer out to get a shot of them IN ACTION. In the same Photo?

Imagine a Madison Bumgarner / Michael Durant / Jesus Montero Triple Autographed RC.

Doesn't make much sense does it? Yet companies do this stuff all the time. 3 little headshots, 3 sticker autographs. NO CORRELATION between the players.

Now, Imagine THIS photograph autographed by the 3 players.

Obviously this isn't just a prospect thing. Major Leaguers would look awsome if say you had Jose Reyes diving back into first with Ryan Howard applying the tag, thrown by Cole Hamels on the pickoff attempt, and you have all 3 guys sign the card.

Just imagine.

Couldn't find one of that situation, but here's Papi and Torrealba maybe?

Someone recently posted buying this in Photograph form.

I'm saying a landscape style, borderless baseball card of this would be swwwwwwweet.
