I like them both, since Barber/Maroney actually made the Gophers football team relevant and may end up being one of the better 1-2 RB combinations in college football history, as far as production in the NFL.

but with that being said, AD is just a beast. I couldn't take anybody in terms of raw potential over him.

Playing football is a risk to every player in the game, so I'm not too worry about what will happen to a player "IF" they get injured. Marion Barber have the potential to be a great player in the NFL, but Adrian Peterson have the potential to be in the same class as Payton, Sanders, Smith, and other legends of the game. Who knows, we'll all see in ten years from now but if I have to bet, I'm taking Peterson over Barber any day.

To be honest i dont understand the huge hype over AP/AD....you talk about marion barber splitting carries but the same thing is gonna happen with AP, chester taylor is there for a reason. and AP is a proven injury prone he was injured in college he got injured last year and ill tell you what i think he'll get injured again this year. maybe not season ending but when it all comes to an end i think AP will have a shorter carrear then barber. AP has more of a dangerous running style then Barbers. Barber is a pounder type back but he doesnt run upright AP does and thats whats hazerdous. IMO again before you all bash me IMO i think AP will be good in the NFL but not nearly as succesful as last season and not nearly as productive throughout the rest of his carear

Adrian Peterson has more potential. When a rookie runningback crushes two of the better defenses in the league, thats something truly special. And I know a lot of you are gonna question his last 6 games after that performance he put on against the Chargers. When it comes down to it, the guy only carried the ball for more than 15 carries once during that 6 game span. I honestly thought it was stupid for them to put him back out on the field, because to be honest the Vikings werent going anywhere and they knew that. Marion Barber is a grinder, plus it seems they want to use him more out of the backfield for flats and screen plays, so I wouldnt really call Marion Barber a "full-time back" anyways. 204 att last over the span of 16 games, thats what like 12-13 carries a game? Hence, why they got rid of Julius Jones, besides the fact he just sucks, but thats why they drafted Felix Jones and Tashard Choice to relieve some of that pressure off Barber.

Chester Taylor is there for a reason, right. But why did the Vikings use the 7th overall draft pick on Peterson? So he can share carries with Taylor for the next few years? No. To be honest, Chester wont be there too much longer, I wouldnt put him past this season.

If any team needs a capable back-up its the Vikings. In 3 years of college football and 1 year of professional football Adrian Peterson has missed playing time due to injuries.

Its hard to say because all the good RB's are still coming into the league. I would say Adrian Peterson but he's had only 1 good year. if he can keep it up he will be the RB of the future. Mcfadden? maybe. its just too early to choose.

but as far as a running back that can do everything it would no doubt have to be LT.

If he keeps his hit and run count down to a minimum Marshawn Lynch has the better career then either.

If I had to pick between Peterson and Barber though - it's Barber, until Peterson proves he can stay healthy for a full year....
