i just compared my kovie yg to a few other cards and my kovalchuk isnt any smaller.

Look at the sides that are smaller and compare it to the others. If the cut looks a bit different then you got something cropped. If not then likely the card went into the cutter a little to far in. You see that alot in base cards from US for series one and two.
