Do Any Of You Bid With the Major Auction Houses?
I'm curious if the newer card collector's bid, or are even aware of the major sports memorabilia auction houses. Companies such as Mastro, Goodwin or Huggins and Scott? Most of the major auction houses cater to vintage material, however, I've noticed that high and low-end modern player and team lots are becoming available. Out of disclosure, I work in the hobby as the Senior Writer for Huggins and Scott Auctions. I ask because we're betting A LOT more modern lots in.

I won their Leaf Certified Materials (baseball) set in the auction-before-last.

edit: this post is a little spammy IMO

Not a new collector here, but yes, I have bid and won with REA.

Here is what I won. Smile

I can see how you would feel it is a bit spammy. However, I ask this question as a collector, and not as my day job.

No, I haven't. There was one about a year ago, but we just had a baby. My wife is a very part-time employee and full time mom, so I decided against it.

I have a hard time paying the "juice". That is what makes me not want to bid on almost every auction.

The catalogs are fun to look at though.
