This year Danica Patrick became the first woman ever to win the Indy Car Race Series! I think this is great for the sport as a whole but also good for her. Seen her videos at motodanica.com yet? Its nice to see her have a good sense of humor. What do you think?

but she'd have a lot more respect gained as a driver if her looks weren't noticed first

Personally I don't think she is overrated. Danica is in a field dominated by men and she holds her own and does have a victory under her belt against men. That would be like Ochoa winning against men in golf. Looks aside she is a competitor and I respect that. Anyone go to any races ever? There is also a sweepstakes on the site from Motorola to win a trip to the 2008 Grand Prix of Sonoma?

i think she is extremely overrated, everyone is making such a big deal that she won but face it, she only one because of fuel mileage and she almost never contends for wins.

she won by strategy and risk (which is exactly what people are celebrating about Dale Earnhardt Jr finally winning again after 76 races). She's in the higher tier of drivers, in the top 10 for points in the league this year. Add to that she has a lot more pressure from media outlets, magazines because she is good looking and doing things that a female driver has never accomplished

I do not buy into the more pressure scenerio. The series is still watered down BAD. Even with the combining of the two series they are not back yet.

I mean last years champion bailed for nascar. Juan pablo nascar. hornish nascar.

If you take the top 5 drivers out of nascar all of a sddden truex jr and newman look a whole lot better.

I personnally think if she wants to be taken serious she needs to quit the pinup style poses. a
