OT: Skateboarders on here!?
I've been skateboarding for about a week. I watch Rob and Big and that made me want to try skateboarding. I've been working hard on my ollie and on a good ollie I can hit near a foot. I just wanted all you skateboarders opinions on what tricks I should try to learn. All I can do is ollie, do 360's on the ground(they're not shove its) and go off my ramp with an ollie. LMK what you think and anything else I should do. I wouldn't mine seeing some sweet skateboarding vids too if you guys have any!Big Grin

Well I used to skate quite a bit and am actually looking into getting another board here soon. When I first started I mainly worked on ollies and manuals. I would suggest learning to do some pop shove-its and kickflips and heelflips. Once you get those down you should be able to do varial kick and heel flips. Just a suggestion but thats how I progressed. Hope it helps. If you want some more advice, feel free to PM me.
EDIT: I think you are doing just fine judging on how high you can ollie, remember practice makes perfect!

I used to skate a lot.

If you can ollie 1 foot after a week you are on your way, in fact that is very good. Learn to drop in off a small quarter pipe, that is the most frightening part, well it was for me. Also get your balance with manuals just to get comfortable on your board. Start skateing 'switch' early as well.

same here. and when i mean used to skate, i'm talkin 18 years ago....i've been really close to getting another board, but i know i'll bust my arse (now that i'm about 100 pounds more than when i was 12 and about half the balance).

i was pumped to see the wii fit had a snowboard game for it, but, i'm a right handed goofy foot, and i am stuck in my ways.

I skated for MONTHS back in 04 and couldn't ollie, so that was it for me haha... I still try every now and then thinking I'll suddenly get it, but I feel like I'm too old to be as bad as I am, so its a lost cause for me

Just watch Rodney Mullen and realize that you will never be as good. Like it was said above, just keep progressing.
