First the Houston draft a catcher they don't need...Then Texas drafts a 1B they don't need(a college one at that)

Texas might be the worst run organization I have ever seen

Really, the first 15+ picks should be based on best available, and probably the entire 1st round. After that, you can start to fill needs, but if a switch-hitting college 1B w/ gold glove defense and big power, and you don't pick him --- then TEX is very, very dumb.

That's my take. I firmly believe in the "best available" drafting method early.

Castro and Weeks were complete overdrafts, but the OAK pick doesn't surprise me with their focus on cheap options.

While I agree with you in some context, the fact is Texas has zero pitching depth for them not to address those needs from here until the 10th round would be a mistake.

Mark

Ummm.... Main, Beavan, etc...???

Now if only he could fall to the Cubs.....

I can wish, cant I?
think your dreaming but i would like to see him in the nwl!

How about Joshua Fields to fill in some of those bullpen problems for the Cubbies?

I dont know, Ive never really been a big fan of relievers being drafted in the first round. Im interested in seeing what their draft approach will be when their pick comes up.

I could see them picking him though. Im friends with the Blue Jays and Cubs scouts in this area (southeast), so im hoping one of them takes a SEC player.

Milwaukee selects Brett Lawrie

Much to Toronto's dismay.
