If I remember correctly the Red Sox picked LaPorta in the 14th round a few years ago, but didn't sign him. If Melville is available later they might have interest in him as well. Then they just need to sign him.
Edit- I'm guessing he will be picked later, rather than sooner. Most teams know he's probably not going to sign, so why waste a 3rd rounder on him. |
