While Bumgarner is deserving of making the hot sheet BA will snub him once again. In the most recent hot sheet for the first 1/3 of the season Maddy made it at #12 but BA had this to say,

Quote:He just hasn't had that real knockout week where he blows a couple teams away to put himself on the Hot Sheet

So in order for him to make it he'll need to pitch two games in one week. The chances of that happening are slim to none seeing how the Greeenjackets use a 6-man rotation.

I also think BA has it out for Bumgarner. In the same hot sheet they wrote,

Quote:Also impressive is the fact that Bumgarner has yet to surrender a home run all year, despite pitching in the more hitter-friendly of the two low Class A leagues.

Guess what happened in his very next start. That's right and it wasn't just one HR he gave up 2!

Tomorrow's Hot Sheet # 1?
If Chris Davis has a good game today(Thurs), I think he'd have a shot since he'd be hitting close to .500 over the last 7, but I'd prefer if he had a little more pop in that stretch. He's 9/21 in his last 6, and a good game today would erase the previous 0/3 from last Thursday. Objectively, though, I see him in the top 20, but super longshot at #1.

Either way, am glad he's doing well in AAA.

Actually, Fowler slipped to the 14th round because most teams felt they couldn't sign him. He was supposed to go to Harvard to play basketball and baseball. But the Rockies gave him a huge signing bonus.

I would also consider Nick "Mork and Mindy" Noonan on the list since his numbers are similar to Fowler's this past week.

I think Gallagher should get a mention; he is more than holding his own in Advanced A at the age of 19.

He won't be #1 but Lars Anderson better be on the list.

Will Inman has been pretty good this month too. It's so hard to know what BA wants from pitchers. I should suspect that Dave Welch with his no-hitter would be on the list too. remember, this hot sheet should cover more than just a week.

It won't, though.
