I don't see the problem that everyone has with Prince being on the team. I'm not a Pistons fan by any means, but Prince has great length and is fantastic on defense. He's definately an energy too that not much people give him credit for and he's got a decent shooting stroke. Not a bad pick for Team USA IMO.

edit: or a brandon roy

Al Jefferson: NO, only good because he's the only semi-reliable player on the whole team, Boozer is better.

Rudy Gay: Really? No way he deserves to be thought of...yet.

David West: Deserves some great consideration, Boozer gets the nod due to experience.

Antwan Jamison: Same as above, not as good of low post scorer as Boozer or West, though.

Caron Butler: Some day

Brandon Roy: He would never, ever, ever get any playing time.

boozer doesnt give team usa anything. rudy gay is long, can play defense and hit jumpers. the main thing for me is that boozer and prince could have been left on for two bigs or at least one of west/jefferson + a jamison or a sf like caron or gay. dont you think those two would be better than prince? and what does gay need to do to be thought of? he is efficient and can do just about anything you need him to do.

Boozer is the better pick than Gay. Plus Boozer can hit jumpers too, and is a 20/10 guy. Gay doesn't even do that when he is the team. Boozer has other people around that are good, and still manages to get the job done.

moellenb Wrote:chris sheridan has an article on espn.com about the olympic team inviting tayshaun prince over tyson chandler. he thinks it's a big mistake and i agree 100%. the only bigs on the roster are bosh, boozer, and dwight. that means we only have one good defensive big man. also, foul trouble could be a real problem.

i dont have too much of a problem with prince. just that they could have taken a big man over him or kidd. i also prefer west-chandler-jefferson-antawn over boozer as a big for the olympic team.

I was at the stuff last year and the reason why they putt kidd on the team is to be a captian who has int'l experience and a true vetran of the game who can help the first timers of usa basketball. He will play alot of minutes but cp3 by the end of the tourny will most likely take over the starting pg spot.
