PayPal Claim...seller MIA from ebay...anyone know the scoop?
Hi everyone. A quick question regarding PayPal claims. 48 hours ago I put in a claim with a seller for a Curtis McElhinney SPA card that never arrived. This was after several attempts to contact. I went to check my ebay today and found that the seller--who has received a ton of negative feedback in the last day--has decided to run away and is no longer a registered user.
Does anyone know what the deal is with sellers who disappear of ebay insofar as successfully getting your money back from them? I would assume that their PayPal account is tied to their credit card, but I suspect that this person has likely killed her PayPal account as well. |

Also, I believe Paypal has a $1,000 buyer protection policy. You may want to check if your payment qualifies for that.

Becoming an 'unregistered user', is not done by the person themself, it is caused by ebay for a number of reasons. Not sticking up for the guy, but I doubt it was all a big scheme to make 5 bucks and keep a McElhinney card. It takes time, but you'll get your money back.

Well if he emptied his paypal account paypal cant give you back your money. Now if you paid with yoru credit card company, file a claim with them, they will tell paypal to send back your money.
The way paypal works. You give them money, which they hand off to someone else. Now if you use your credit card. Paypal is the one that accepts the credit card, not the seller. So Paypal is forced to send back your money. It is the only way I send money over paypal. If i get ripped off, i get my money back. The seller has 7 days ( i think ) to respond to the claim. If they dont, paypal will decide in your favour and then try to get back your money. |
