'08 Elite box price question, and the millionth "What box to buy?" dilemma
The site I buy cards from has been cutting the price seemingly every week. When I first looked, it was at close to $120, now its at $95.
Do you think its a good deal at that price? Or should I wait a little longer. I'm probably just gonna get a couple '07 Elite and hope for Thomas or Quinn autos, because I can get the '07 for $65. Other than the two... what from '07 or '08 would you recommend as a fun box? I just can't find one box right now that I'm incredibly head over heels about. Thanks! |

If it were me, I would take a stab at 2007 Grid Gear. I busted about 2 cases worth the stuff and hit some really nice patches, patch autos, autos, and stuff like that. It isnt going to deliver the final price worth the box unless you hit a nice vet auto, or an AP auto, but it is a kick in the pants with tons of #'d cards, autos and jerseys. The stuff sells pretty good on the 2ndary market and i loved the design from last year. From 2008 it has to be prestige. I seen such great stuff come out of it and I only bought 9 or 10 packs of it and hit this:

I don't know why, I just haven't really looked at Prestige. That's a good point though.

I liked LCM and Absolute Memorabilia in 07 for low end breaks and NT for high end. Can't say personally that I would buy anything in 08 yet.

If you are hoping for a thomas or quinn don't buy a box buy the single you want because most likely you are going to be disapointed.

My favorite card brand since 2005 has been Donruss Gridiron. Need to find the time to scan my 05 stuff but most my 06 and 07 are scanned. Other than that I like the LCM Gold Versions. 2008 Prestige is really nice. Much better than Elite IMO.
