MATTEO Laporta
Was walking thru the Stadium with friends during Futures Game intro when Laporta's name was announced....MATTEO Laporta.
We all stopped, looked at each other and asked "Did the announcer just call him Matteo"? On top of that, the announcer got all the hispanic names correct, with accent, but he couldnt read "Matthew" correctly? |

MATTEO Laporta
The guy was probably hispanic and laporta's name was probably written down as matt, and in most hispanic countries, matt is short for matteo. i'm probably not right, but it's my best guess that he was incorrectly guessing at matt's full first name.
That's the best i could come up with. lol. Anthony |

MATTEO Laporta
sounds about right.
They announced "Dexter Fowler" when Andrew McCutchen came up to bat. |

MATTEO Laporta
Matthew = Mateo
(English) (Spanish) I don't know what LaPorta's name really is, but maybe the announcer just translated the name (I don't have any idea why) |
