Donruss back in October
Philip J. Even if it means we have 200 1/1 of every player Yeah and let's hope that Topps puts out more sets like Moments and Milestones. No bogus 1/1s in that set....   |

History and eBay sales prove this. They are head and shoulders above companies such as TriStar. +1 Also, what percentage of those in the hobby even know that Donruss is not licensed? |

Donruss back in October

Although October does seem about right now that I think about it. The player licensed tidbit is interesting. I'm pretty sure there will be prospects in the set but now I'm wondering if there may be some MLB players as well. |

Elite Extra is always a fun break for prospect autos unavailable in other Bowman sets (Wieters, Chris Davis, Gallagher etc). But including major leaguers with their uniforms airbrushed is a bad idea. I do however like cards of prospects in their college and high school prep uniforms. Donruss did a great job this year with guys like Cale Iorg, Vitters etc.
ITG is a different story because they actually get world tournament/league jerseys which make them different from NHL jerseys. Ovechkin had some really cool Russian Super League patch cards in 05/06. Bruin7 |

History and eBay sales prove this. They are head and shoulders above companies such as TriStar. I think Donruss is doing better than a lot of people imagined is because most of the players are featured in their high school/college uniforms which Donruss is allowed to use. They are also using photos which obscure the team logos of teams they can't use which minimizes the airbrushing they have to do. |

Otherwise anyone could produce cards.Do you work for topps or the MLBPA because nobody in their right minds likes the RC logo and hates donruss. I believe he is talking about the use of official team logos, which are properties of MLB. Nothing about the RC Logo |

Donruss back in October
I loved Donruss products. Sure they flooded the market, but seriously anything more at this point is better. Donruss produced some of the best memorabilia and autograph sets, and it was always a fun product to break. They didn't flood their product with countless numbers of Mickey Mantle inserts like Topps, and they actually posted their insert odds on packs, unlike Upper Deck. Sure, Donruss was responsible for killing the 1/1, but time has provebn that Topps and Upper Deck and continued to carry that torch by making products like Topps Moments/Memories, and pretty much any of UDs "high-end" product that features 5,000 different Ripken 1of1s.

I'll welcome Donruss back with open arms as long as the MLBPA introduces a product cap per company. 40 products or so a year just isn't fun.
