You must not have kept up with the team too much. Ike was only injured for the month and a half at the start of the season. The rest of the season he missed games because O'Brien chose not to play him.

Which is probably why we threw him in the deal. We saw some good flashes of play before the injury (14 ppg avg. in the first 3 games of the season) but O'Brien never let him the rotation after that and he only played more than 20 minutes two times the rest of the yaer. He obviously saw something he didn't like in his play and he and Bird must have decided he would never fit in with the new team.

I still think it was a great trade for both teams (excluding the McRoberts pickup), and Rush and Jack make our backcourt complete.

Maybe Ike will be in good favor at Portland and get some PT...wish him the best.

I don't see Ike getting much playing time here next year unless someone is moved. I think the trade can work out for all three teams (the Pacers D-League being the third----Go McRoberts!) I'm sure McRoberts and Ike were both used just to make the trade work under the CBA.
