Thick graded card 8.5 = Thin graded card 9.0?
Are there series of thick modern cards that a graded value of 8.5 is equivalent to a 9.0 or 9.5 for a thin card? Topps chrome and Bowman's have a lot of 9.5 and 10 grades, especially for baseball. The 2007 SPX football and 2007 Exquisite football are thick cards that I rarely see grades above 8 or 8.5. These are expensive products that the packaging causes edge and corner irregularities and chipping. I buy boxes as well as purchase a lot on e-bay. No matter where the cards come from the edges look the same. It's better to have the cards slabbed to prevent further damage. This is great for my PC. However if I sell a card on line or at my local shop it doesn't generate as much interest as an ungraded card. Should I just chalk this up to just bad products? Note: 2007 SPX basketball seemed to be packaged better than the above.
