Breaking News!!!! Darn you RAZORRRR
So what if Tim Beckham or Kyle Skipworth (or the other guy) makes it to MLB in less than 3 yrs. Even though this is highly unlikely, it kind of put a damper on the RC logo doesn't it since Razor isn't licensed.
Again, we, the prospector are skeptical b/c 1) it isn't licensed 2) therefore, it isn't as appealing (HS unis? ugly) 3) therefore, we are afraid that it will sell horribly on 2ndary market So yes we are worried that it's neither licensed nor it will not sell |

blitzerlover Wrote:I don't see why people won't buy it. Is it because you don't like it doesn't have MLB lisence or because you don't think you can make money? I think the only valid answer to this at this point is that their chrome ego is too big to allow them to. Obviously once we know the SRP, look of cards, etc., people will be able to give more reasons. There are too many unknowns to give any other reason for people coming out at this moment and saying they will not bust... |

Breaking News!!!! Darn you RAZORRRR
I mean, this whole thing seriously could be a hoax.
- If I was Razor, and I just signed some player to 6 figure contract, I would post the ACTUAL picture of the player signing with the company (Sort like a COA for Just Minor jersey/bat). Not some random picture that they got off the internet - the photo of Beckham seem like it was him signing w/ the Rays - and the Beckham and the other guy is their "in-action" pictures. Also someone said to ask for Brian Gray? Well that's their President! If their President has the time to get back to each and every call... uhhhh I'm seriously in doubt of their infrastructure |

I completely understand why people are angry, i'm just not one of them. 1) People are upset because they used to be able (for the most part) to go to ONE place for their draftpicks, and now they have to split their attention (and dollars) over many products. 2) Tim Beckham would have had a sharp lookin Bowman Chrome card in a ML uniform, with ML team Logos, and a Nice On Card autograph. ...........Now he will have a sharp looking Razor card, NOT in a ML uniform, with NO ML logo, and most likely at first a sticker auto. Its' not that Razor has joined the market, its that they've prevented a superior product from being released. Collectors like Continuity. Similarity, Brand recognition, whatever you want to call it. It's part of the OCD thing that 'collectors' share. Yeah, yeah, definitely need my chrome cards in order. Gotta put them in order. All my Gold Refractors in order. All of them numbered to 50. Fifty is a round number. Uh-Oh, Uh-Oh, 2003 Gold refractors numbered to 170? Uh-oh, Uh-oh [smashing cards into side of head] |

Breaking News!!!! Darn you RAZORRRR
rbadger Wrote:I'm guessing either Topps or UD will buy these guys, which may be part of their plan. I've seen it a LOT with technology companies where certain companies develop a certain piece of IP (intellectual property), just hoping one of the big players will buy their company. I can see the same happening here (more likely Topps), and then things will be "business as usual". There is no viable reason why Topps would buy Razor just because they own the "exclusive" rights to the likeness of Tim Beckham and a few other first-round draft picks, most of which will never amount to a hill of beans at the Major League level, as history dictates. Let's all think back to 2001 when Upper Deck signed Prince Fielder and Scott Kazmir to exclusive contracts, or to 2003 when Upper Deck signed Ian Stewart to an exclusive contract. Did Topps try and buy Upper Deck? I don't think that they did, but if they did, it wouldn't have been because of three lousy "exclusive" contracts. There are 30+ first round draft picks and then a bunch of supplemental first round draft picks to choose from. Topps will find a way to make 2008 Draft Picks and Prospects worth your penny, just as they do every year. I am sure that we haven't heard the last of the Razor "saga." It's certainly not the end of the world as we know it. While it would be nice to see a Bowman Chrome Tim Beckham, whether autographed or not, just because Razor owns the righs to produce his likeness outright for three years, it doesn't mean that the game is over, nor does it mean that Beckham will not appear on a Bowman Chrome card within those three years. Think logically here. People who own exclusive rights to things sometimes own them for reasons that aren't as obvious as one might think. Everyone, breathe. Please. Especially JP |

Crash, In one week they've announced 3 'lousy exclusive contracts' in 2 seperate announcements.. They don't appear to be done. Obviously if its just 3 players the world will not end. If they announce another 4 guys tomorrow, the planet's axis may shift, If they announce another 8 next monday, the gravitational pull will invert. Another 16 at month end, we're talking about Dogs and Cats LIVING together, MASS hysteria. At that rate, By December they will have 264 of the first round picks signed. Think about THAT man, |
