Agreed. I was pissed I wasted my money. It was flat stupid and not that good.

I honestly could help but burst out laughing when the two kids got shotgunned. That was such a ridiculous scene. Why were they in the movie to begin with.

I did not, however, like all the hype for being his first "R" rated movie. I did like the eire scenes, i.e. the mass hangings and the building jumping. The ending, yes as many of you say, was botched. More should have been told about "you deserve this" (as seen on the housing development sign and einstein's quote on the board). But yes next time I will be reluctant to go and see another movie from Shaymalan
How does a movie have potential? Its either good or it sucks.

Wife and I went and saw it Friday night and was disappointed with the end.
Up until the ending though the movie did kept me interested in what happens next.

The concept of the movie had potential. Like the Hulk. The first time they made it, it was terrible. But it had potential and was remade into a good film.

The last 2 movies M Night, from what I heard were serious disappointments, to think someone bought this movie like others for millions. I didn't see the other two. I didn't have to think twice on skipping out on this movie like the last two.

I was into his movies until he came out with lady in the water. I thought the happening was going to be redemption, but it was not. Whoever thought having Mark Wahlberg telling a group of people to "out run the wind" was a good horror film needs to re-evaluate their concept of a good movie. This movie sucked, plain and simple.

tincastlemusic Wrote:Well, being the movie fanatic that I am, on Saturday I had to go check out the latest M. Night movie, "The Happening". M. Night is without a doubt my favorite director (horror movies are definitely my genre), and I've loved everything he's done in the world of film (even though he is constantly getting bashed by critics and movie-goers alike). In a world full of remakes, at least M. Night is willing to attempt to create things that haven't been done before and take those chances.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the movie (my favorite since Signs), and would really recommend it for anyone who actually gets what Shyamalan is going for with his films. He definitely gets that suspense/terror mix flowing right away from the opening scene, and the concept of a mass killer being completely undetectable is definitely a scary concept. A lot of critics were upset that there was no twist or surprise ending on this one, but without giving anything away, there is an underlying twist that isn't really brought up in the film directly, but is definitely implied. I've read a ton of critic's reviews on this film, and not a one has even touched on it.So, if you are a horror movie fan, definitely check it out and really pay attention to what is going on in the film. If you are a fan of M. Night's work, you will definitely enjoy!

hollywood has been peddling this garbaged nonsense to us for the last 5 years....
just sayin'Big Grin
