I get the message!! Yeah your right that would suck!! I don't break product, but I love the inserts.. Sucks for me, cuz I love chasing the inserts like the Limited Logos, was really looking forward to the sick Toews logos of this year... Hope you get your answer, because guys like me love/need guys like you and LogoPatch breaking this product!! Hope some one at Upper Deck can explain it a bit better!!! Good Luck!!

IMO, there is too much emphasis on rookies in The Cup to begin with, and the fact that there are at least 40 plates of each rookie totally eliminates any "collectibility" they have in my books.

The lack of an Anton Straalman Honorable Numbers card should not be seen as a bad thing... :lol:

I wonder what anyone breaking 07/8 Cup will say when they pull a Rich Peverley plate as the "hit" in their tin...

Thats not accurate. They don't put No-Name Rcs in Limited Logos, Honorable Numbers etc..

For example, last years Limited Logos set had only the following 4 rookies:
Kopitar, Staal, Kessel and Malkin. No Andy Greene types.

Honorable Numbers had only Kopitar, Latendresse, Staal, Radulov, Weber, O'Sullivan, Stastny, Kessel and Malkin.

Absolutely not true, if you have collected the cup the past two years, the inserts such as Honorable Numbers/Limited Logos/Signature Patches do not carry ANY of the lesser known/collected rookies in the Hobby!! Benoit Pouliot as an example had no Honorable Numbers/Limited Logos produced!! I see where you were going with your point but the evidence ie. production does not support your claim when it comes to these specific inserts!!

True, but Matt Carle and Patrick O'Sullivan did get Honorable Numbers cards last year...

Benoit Pouliot, Dustin Boyd, Drew Stafford and Travis Zajac are in the NHL Enshrinements auto set.

Say what you will, but there is no reason for Zajac to be in that set... Parise should have been in it instead!

Obviously the Cup is an exceptional product, so of course they're not going to fill out the checklist with oddball rookie players... I was trying to make light of the fact that everyone wants more rookies when they are getting cards of the top 5 guys, but if it was anyone else, we would be pleading for rookies to be removed entirely!

not necessarily true, those rookies you named (carle, o'sullivan, pouliot, boyd, stafford, zajac) are mid-tier and have a noticeable contingent of local collectors. it would seem in my eyes that UD did some research as to who to put into the set knowing it would still garner attention.

not like this year where guys like Lundqvist, Phaneuf, and Mike Richards aren't even in the base set....

I don't think it's a big deal. instead of buying 20-30grand worth of cards that you don't plan on keeping, maybe use it for something that will last for you? A new car is always nice I hear.
