I'll actually contribute rather than just complaining like some of the other people here.

Before when I was actually collecting I was working on a Mussina collection but this is all I got to

Moose is one of those guys who will get in, if even gets close to 300, because of consistency and the fact of the era he played. Think of it, he played in an era of baseball of increasing offensive stats, especially the long ball. As 400 or 500 career homeruns becomes less monumental, say 250 wins in 20 years maybe considered like 300. How many guys will even reach 300 with a 5 or 6 man rotations only pitching 100 or so pitches? If he continues, he should get in but probably not on the first year of eligibility.

I don't have any Mussina cards in my collection, well not anything special, but i think he deserves to be in the hall.
I mean, He's likely to hit 270 career wins and he could get to 2800 strikeouts this season.
I think he deserves consideration at the very least. I mean, those are pretty good numbers. He needs to at least be on the ballot. I personally would vote him in if i could.

You play?

If you would quit for that reason, I feel bad for you and your family.

No I don't mean that... The term isn't meant to be taken literally.

zan

Yeah, and I don't really feel bad for you and your family. Of course I didn't think you were serious.

Anyways, care to give a reason at least?

I just feel like Mussina isn't an outstanding player. I had the same issue w/ Palmeiro. When I think of ten players late in their career that will make the Hall of Fame, Mussina isn't a person that strikes me as one who will.

I agree, he's been a very good pitcher his entire career, but not HOF worthy. When I think HOF, I think the best players in baseball. The guys who dominate, like Pedro, RJ, Santana, and Peavy are the ones who should end up with HOF careers because of how dominant they've been.

Mussina has put up good numbers for 15 years, but doesn't strike me as ever being one of the best players in baseball.
