Best ACTIVE Goalie Not Named Brodeur....
ive seen things that made me laugh my butt off in this discussion.
luongo. overated! LOOOOOOOOOOL. i mean i understand jealousy hurts, but dont exagertate. secondly, turco is good, and intelligent, but best in the nhl. wrong. thirdly, what cdantonio wrote was the dumbest thing ive ever seen on a discussion thread. luongo ALWAYS had amazing highlight reel saves, but since he played with panthers, (no offense to them) he didint get so many wins. now hes on a decent team, and has already proven himself. let him go on the wings, or another team with a promessing futur, and youll see what this guys really capable of. |

kovalev27c Wrote:thirdly, what cdantonio wrote was the dumbest thing ive ever seen on a discussion thread. What exactly was DUMB? Did I rip Luongo? Did I write he wasnt in the discussion as the #2 goalie in the league? Did I write he never makes amazing saves? Or did I list ALL TRUE Stats? EVERY Goalie has Pros and Cons and the dumbest thing I have ever seen in a discussion thread is: "Luongo....End of Discussion" Or maybe "let him go on the wings" That is some real DUMB stuff right there when trying to validate the Luongo argument. Come Correct or Don't Come At All. |

Nabokov had an incredible season, so he must be considered. However, if I am picking a goalie to play a Game 7 for me tomorrow, I take Giguere. Even according to his peers, Giguere is considered 1A to Brodeur. When Luongo was asked who the best goalie in the NHL was, he didn't hesitate to say "Giguere without a doubt." Some other goalies look more spectacular but Giguere is as technically sound as you can find. Nabokov, Kiprusoff, Bryzgalov and Vokoun are all excellent as well.

Maybe you didnt get the message and Bobby Loo couldnt rightfully vote for himself. It seems to be Luongo....End of Discussion around here and every other point is DUMB |

cdantonio Wrote:Sorry. Your points are too valid. Maybe you didnt get the message and Bobby Loo couldnt rightfully vote for himself. Luongo is GREAT but there is definitely room for discussion. It also depends on how you are coming to a decision. For example, if we were talking about which goalie would you select in a draft right now to build a team around for the next 15 years, players like Miller, Lundqvist or Price would certainly be top choices. But, if you are picking one goalie for one shot at the Stanley Cup, I would narrow my choices to a goalie who has proven he has both the physical ability and mental toughness to backstop a Cup champion. Hasek? Way too old. Cam Ward? Good but there is better. Osgood? Real good but I still take Giguere as my guy. |

Fungchen3 we will forgive you since you are new here but when these threads pop up you are required to check your sane, rational, logical thoughts backed by evidence at the door. They just create chaos and detract from the homer posts and whatnot. Not to say they aren't appreciated, no sir, far from it.
