King17 Wrote:Not sure if this was posted but i heard that the Hawks are going to go hard after Hossa and possibly Cambell. Hossa said he would be interisted in the Hawks if they came to him with the right deal, that would be a huge signing for the Hawks. They really want a puck moving d-man and if they can fit Cambell under the cap they will try to sign him, most sources are saying that Cambell would like to return to the east. I have a VERY GOOD source that says Sundin was offered a 1 year $6 million deal from the Leafs and flatly rejected it without so much as a counter offer. |

Personally what i believe is that the habs are going to be trading Jaroslav Halek. probably to a team like washington, edmonton or LA. he has stated taht he does not want to be a number two guy and have very little pklaying time behind Price. And on the flip side montreal will sign Huet to be the back up, for roughly 1-1.5 million. All of his stuff is located in storage at my buddies storage facility hear in montreal, and he has mentioned a couple of times that he only wants to stay here.

Huet is a starter, and will not settle for 1-1.5 million. He would likely not sign with Montreal regardless, as they have made it know that Price is their man. If you honestly think Huet will take such a low offer to play in Mtl, you need to give your head a shake. |

Huet wants at least $2.5 per. |

Well I am going to throw this out there.. Does anyone have a opinion on what the Bruins may do this off season.. Hopefully resign Weidman.. I believe they need a big name vet (a Hossa type vet). With Manny and Thomas in net for another year it will Tuukka another year to grow.. we need to do something..

hmm reported by Howard Berger. The habs arent the only team that has exclusive rights to Mats. Apparently the Rangers and Red Wings are in on it also. Interesting....I hope to see him go to Detroit. I just don't want him near any team in the leafs division. I know leafs fans are already getting ticked off at him for not accepting a trade in February. If he goes to Mtl or ottawa it will ruin his whole reputation as a leaf and will get booed which will be unfair, nothing you can do about it with out obnoxious leafs fans
 Also, what you think the leafs gonna do, seeing as Mats will be gone and thats a good 6 million $ gone from our salary cap, pursue Mike Green. Canadian and would help our defensive core much more. |

You will re-sign Wideman, I don't expect that to take too much longer, it will almost certainly be done this work week I have reason to believe... You guys are rumored to already be talking to Marian Hossa, how? I don't know...but Chiarelli seems rather tounge-in-cheek about it...kind of concerning as a Penguins fan myself...Chara and him are BFFs apparently... Manny and Timmah are likely back in net for you guys this year...even though I feel that with that defensive system, it wouldn't matter who was in net...it can't hurt to have Tuukka play in Providence again... You guys will also have Blake Wheeler as of 7/1...so you have that to look forward to... You'll know a big move is coming (Hossa, Campbell, something big) if you start seeing the dead weight dropped...Axelsson, Muzz and that nonsense...if that isn't dropped, just briefly adding things in my head, you aren't gonna really be able to grab a big name... So like I said, and it comes with the "Captain Obvious" tag attached to it...if you start seeing these big ol' salaries getting dumped, especially Murray's, you're probably hot on the trail of something big, and if it's a trade, don't think it impossible that Phil the Thrill isn't a part of a blockbuster... --- Pogge - Berger is the "it's as good as a coin flip if he's right or wrong" guy in Toronto's media, or is that someone else? Either way, I don't really doubt him here...this Sundin stuff is interesting, I'm not sure why Toronto isn't getting anything from this...this one of the more interesting plot lines of the summer as far as I'm concerned, I'm curious to know some of the details, but I tend to steer clear of these kind of high-end dealings because little ol' me doesn't have enough pull for anyone to probably wanna talk to me... --- The Devils are certainly on the lookout for a defenseman this offseason, and like I said earlier, Lou has always coveted Jason Smith and Brad Stuart...he loves both those guys...I'm not sure if he grabs either (no crystal ball) but you can bet they are on his radar...although, I have reason to believe Stuart remains a Red Wing... |

Doug Risebrough has said he has made his final offer (believed to be 4.5) to Brian Rolston and Rolston turned it down. Rolston will test the free agent market come July 1. This wasn't too hard to figure out since they never once made a counter-offer.
Rolston was a very good player for the Wild the past two years especially at 2.5 per. However, I will not be sad to see him go. He is sort of the perfect example of a "soft player". He will not go into the corners to save his life. Fly4apuckguy was frustrated with Hossa - he should only be so lucky he didn't have to watch a full season of Rolston. He became more and more of a one-trick pony. He has the great slap shot and over the last two years, teams would figure that out and take it away from him and it showed in his second half season numbers. Thanks for the good two years Brian, but don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The Wild need to do something in the free agent market however. as it stands right now it seems that all the eggs are being put in the Koivu/Burns/Schultz basket. Not that I don't like those three but ummmm 2 of them are defensemen. I am reallly hoping that they toss a long term contract at PMB but with every report I read my hope dies a little  So Mr. Jagr........ what do you view in the future for the Wild???? |
