Ok well every year me and my best friend make a 20 dollar bet that my 49ers will have a better season then his cowboys. I know I always loose lol but I have to support my team. Well this year was no different other then one day we got into a little heated argument about who was a better running back Frank Gore or Marion Barber and by stats Gore has him beat but he always brings up look at how many more carries gore has than barber. So this year we put an extra 20 dollars on who will have the better season. What is your guys take on this do u think i have the 20 wraped up in gore? I mean he is a beast and i dont know of any other running back that has done so well with 2 knee recunstruction surgeries.

gore is more injury prone than barber. But you never know. I think with out jones in Dallas that barber will break 1000- 1200 yards.

Gore with foster and Mrob will probly be 1000 still but less carries.

Well this works for a good neutral topic opinion since I don't like either of these teams. Gore has had a decent last few years, as well has Barber, neither of them have made and "outstanding" impact yet as far as putting up big money in yardage and TD's, but alot changes from year to year. I'd say Gore is going to have a better year with Mike Martz running the offense in San Fran, Plus with new receivers in there like Isaac Bruce which means new targets, this will take less pressure off of Gore running it so the Niners can mix it up between the backfield and passing it.

only thing that scares me about martz coming in is that he likes to throw it alot and as gore can catch out of the backfield he isnt a recieving back. I hope that since marshall faulk is helping him out that he will be able to take the load from a martz offense.

I think he'll be able too. I mean even if he doesn't do to well, you will still win half the bet with the Niners winning since they'll pass the ball all day lol. but seriously I think that Gore will adjust well with Martz offense, he likes to mix it up, as with Marshall Faulk back in 2000 when he had a 1,000 rushing and a 1,000 receiving, Martz does miracles lol, jk that was all Faulk cause he's da man but I still think Gore can do it.

Gore's hands will have to improve a little, but a lot of his drops early last season were from his broken hand in the off-season. He's generally been reliable on those plays. What Gore needs to learn from Faulk is the "feel" of that offense. Like how to locate the soft spots under the coverage to turn those 3 yard passes into 10-15 yard gains.

I think you have this half of the bet won. But I'm a bit biased.

Martz will bring the end of Gore in San Francisco, unless Gore can figure out how to become a receiver. I've always said, Martz's philosophy is, "Why run for 5 yards, when you can pass for 2?", and this year won't be any different.

Good luck with your bet, but it'll be another losing year for you again.
