2007-08 UD Artifacts
Packs Per Box: 10 Cards Per Pack : 4 Cards Per Box: 39 Duplicates: 4 Quality Control: no problems What We Pulled 24 base cards 2 Rookies (Krys Barch and Bryan Young) 1 Stars/1499 (Joe Thornton) 1 Legends/1499 (Mario Lemieux) 1 Rookie Redemption (Anaheim Ducks) 1 Silver Parallel/100 (Marc Savard) 1 Gold Parallel/50 (Chris Drury) 1 Auto-Facts (Dale Hawerchuk) 1 Frozen Artifacts/299 (Larry Robinson) 1 Tundra Tandems Gold/50 (Manny Fernandez/Tim Thomas) 1 Treasured Swatches Patch /25 (Peter Forsberg) We Say If you liked Artifacts last year, chances are you'll be equally enthralled this time around...because it's practically the same product. The designs and inserts evoke deja vu from the firt pack cracked, a sense that suggests the UD designers might benefit from getting out of the office every now and then to pick up some fresh inspiration (a challenge even more necessary after the same issues were raised about MVP). If you can get beyond that, the product delivers pretty much as promised. It was disappointing to find four dupes--the equivalent of one full pack, and pulling two rookies as spare-to-quite-spare as Barch and Young was a knee to the hobby junk. UD may also have a problem with the ill-conceived decoy program. There were two packs noticeably thicker than the others in this box. One had a decoy, the other a Forsberg patch. Because they're so easy to search, you'll need to purchase from a dealer you trust if you're going after single packs. On the plus side, the hits came out as expected, and the Anaheim Rookie Redemption could prove to be one of the most desirable pulls over time. |
