OT - What kind of Paypal account to get
Hi,
I'm not sure if I should take the personal or premier account (Are they both free or does premier cost something?)
I'm gonna use Paypal to buy and sell online (eBay in particular)

PLMK what I should get
Thanks

The personal is free, but the premier has the fees. You can also only accept I think $200 per month in payments on the personal and they make you upgrade to the premier.

You can double check, but I know it's not much. If you plan on selling a lot or higher priced items they will probably get you eventually. I would do like you said and sign up for the personal and keep it for as long as you can. Once you get moved to premier you can't go back.

One thing about the personal account, you can only take direct PayPal transfers. If they are paying by credit or through their bank, you will not be able to accept the payment.

Plus you cannot refuse the transaction (unless they've changed something over the last year or so). If I pay with a credit card (which makes your acct become premeir before you can accept it) you cannot refuse the transaction. I even had it in the ebay auction "Paypal payments MUST come from current paypal funds. NO CREDIT CARD". The dillweed that bought from me paid with a credti card anyways. No option to refuse it so I called Paypal to figure out why. I was told that when you put in an auction that you accept paypal, you are agreeing to accept whatever form of payment the buyer decides to use - period. I spend 30 minutes on the phoen w/ a "manager" at Paypal telling her that I didn't feel it was right for Paypal to upgrade my acct to a premier (so they coudl charge me) and my not any sayso in the matter regarding whether I wanted to accept the payment or not - felt like I was being railroaded. Finally she agreed to refund the fees they took out of my payment and put me back to a personal acct but that didn't last long because the very next buyer did the same thing and I didn't feel like another half hour on the phone with Paypal.

If you are selling - get the premier account. You will be charged a fee for every transaction (payments, not purchases), but you are able to accept all payment types including credit card payments.

A personal account would cause you problems reveiving money for your auctions...
