he tried to engage the parachute, although at that speed, I don't think it would have made a difference, the initial explosion probably knocked him unconcious...I really feel bad right now, I don't like seeing that happen, but I know that the drivers know the risk they take when they get behind a machine that's basically a rocket ship on land...300 mph...whoa, that's really fast...
