Is the talent level in the NBA catching up to Lebron?!
puregreen5 Wrote:Lebron is a amazing special talent, but I'm starting to think that other players are starting to catch up to his superstar status! Lebron was so head and above everyone else for alongtime, but now it seems that their is a infusion of superstar young talent emerging in the NBA, at a rate that hasn't been seen since the 80's! i.e. Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, Rudy Gay, Kevin Durant, Danny Granger, Monta Ellis, Brandon Roy, Andre Iguodala, Deron Williams, and then we have Greg Oden coming back, Derrick Rose, Micheal Beasley, O.J. Mayo, Jerryd Bayless, Eric Gordon, now I'm not saying all these guys will become superstars, but they all have the tools to become anywhere from good to amazing!! It seems like Lebron has some new Las Vegas friends on the way, and a impossible time of winning a chamionships b/c of one of these superstars in training will always be slapping him down in the future!!! All are unproven:doubt: And think about skinny Durant trying to defend LeBron, a man, he would hurt him. |

The rest of those guys are just young stars that usually fade away after they get paid big deals |

LeBron is in a league of his own. Yes, Kobe can score like there's no-one else on his team (and quite often he does - to the detriment of the team), but he hasn't got the all-round game that LeBron has. Even Michael Jordan, great as he was, didn't have the complete package in the way LeBron has it. You know who LeBron reminds me of - and I've said this from the word go? Oscar Robertson. Yes Michael had a couple of seasons early in his career where he averaged better than 20ppg, 6rpg and 6apg. But that was just it - a couple. LeBron has done this five seasons straight and only one person has had a longer streak - Oscar Robertson. LeBron at least knows when to defer and when to take-over and does this on a constant basis - I don't see anyone else doing this and still putting up the numbers LeBron does.

He's a good player, nothing more than that right now. He shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Stoudemire, Howard, CP3, DWill yet. Neither should Durant or Rookies who have proved nothing except looking good on cards. Lebron and Kobe are in a class of their own, then right below them is CP3, DWill, DH12, Amare, etc. Pointless thread...again... |

I'm no LBJ hater at all but until he wins a championship he's just another Malone/Barkley/Ewing in my book, that aint bad at all but it aint nothin amazing either.

it is funny how people compare young guys that have POTENTIAL to the best in the league, sorry to burst your bubble but most of the people you mentioned will never even reach allstar level...

I think Mr. Jordan is the greatest ever in basketball history.. Lebron james is another great player that will rewrite the history of the NBA.. If LBJ can win the championship and dominate the league for the next decade we can place LBJ next to MJ. |
