Pricing rant on rookie cards.
I have noticed that recently Rookie cards in the last few years come out so high in BV price and then the next year they drop drastically. I think it is mostly do to new rookies with big hype the next year that everyone wants because of the draft hype.. I am very surprised that a pack of exquisite sells for over $500 and the rookie you pull that is numbered to 99 will book for $2000 or more and a few years later it is booking for $500. That makes no sense to me. I think that BV is based way to much on online auctions. When will the expensive packs that hold no longtime value stop? When will we realize that only 99 rookie cards in the world is very very limited?

Look at them like Cars

A new car can set you back quite a bit of money

A used car will be cheaper

A classic car in good condition will cost equal or more than that of a new car

Same thing applys here when buying 08 model cards:lol: expect to pay a premiem while 07's will be discounted as most are intrested in the lastest and greatest.

Like the Car deal the right player and condition in X # of years will most likely begin to climb in value again.....most likely at the end of their career and or HOF induction if applicable.

When a player proves himself, his cards will go up. Just look at what Lebron James' Exquisite RC did. You should just buy the guys that you think are too low and wait for them to explode. If you think that Brady Quinn is going to be a superstar, then pick up his Exquisite RCs for less than the price of a box. If he wins 3 SBs like Tom Brady or puts up record numbers like Peyton Manning, then his cards will go thru the roof like those guys' Contenders RCs have.
