billcrackers Wrote:Wow, I'm clearly in the minority here. If you are sent a freebie and you have no use for the card, what else would you do? Throw it in a box? Toss it in the garbage? Let it sit on a shelf? I think people are missing the main point here. Someone isn't going to give away a card they need for their PC, only a card that is a dup or not needed in their collection. I would never give a card as a freebie from my collection, but if I gave someone a dup and they sold it, who cares. You gave him a gift, he didn't want the gift, he sold it. If your grandma gave you a Barnes and Noble gift card for your birthday but you had no use for books, I'm sure she'd rather you trade/sell it for a gift card you'd actually use than do nothing with it. This is the exact same idea. Interesting way to look at it and it makes sense. Obviously the person did not need or want the card, so instead of it ending up in some drawer or in a box in a crawl space for who knows how many years, the card is now being enjoyed by the person who bought it. In turn, im sure the person who sold the card will put the money towards something they want. The freebies i have given out recently to a member here, i told the person up front that if they dont want the cards i had given them to trade or sell them off for something they want. I don't want someone to feel obligated that they have to keep the cards. |
