The American Hockey League and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association recently unveiled the 2006-07 AHL Top Prospects trading card set, featuring 50 of the most outstanding young players in the AHL.

The set, manufactured by Choice SportsCards of Aston, Pa., features action photos and career statistics of rising stars from all 27 AHL teams.

Among the potential hobby heroes in this set are Drew Stafford, Benoit Pouliot, Dustin Boyd, Justin Pogge, Rob Schremp, David Krejci, Joe Pavelski and Jaroslav Halak.


Now in its 71st season of play, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 80 percent of today’s NHL players are American Hockey League graduates.
