Question about Grading.
I bought a card that was graded by another company and wanted to switch it to BGS. Does it cost extra? Would I have to take it out of the case before I send it? thanks!

You would have to take it out of the case to send it. It will cost you the regular fee to have it graded. Also, keep in mind that BGS does have sub gradings, so if it was a 10, you might end up with a 9.5 or so. P.S. those Kolb autos are sick! |

You can pay a cracking fee. It is like $3 or something, but not a bad idea since you may way to do a min grade of 9.5 so that way if it is not, you still have it in the 10 case. With that said, PSA 10 goes to BGS 9.5 about 50% of the time from what I understand. If it is not PSA, or SGC do not bother sending it to BGS. |

Question about Grading.
A better answer can be given if we know what card it is and who the grading company is.
For a general answer, yes, Beckett "cross-grades". If you send it in the holder, they will charge you a "cracking" fee of $3 to remove the card from the existing slab, then charge you the regular grading fee which varies depending on the level you choose. If you want to put a minimum grade, then you can say not to "crack" if it does not reeach at least a 9.5. With this route, you will at least get the card in the desired condition or the card back in the original slab. Going this route will cost you a review fee, a cracking fee($3), and then your grading fee. Again, depending on the grading company and what you have will tell you if it is reasonable to een consider sending it in. If it is not a PSA, SGC, or maybe a GAI, your percentage of it being trimmed or altered starts to go up considerably. |
