It should mainly be up to Carmelo and his agent to decide where to stay.

Personally, if there could be a deal with the Celtics for a player like Ray Allen- if they were to put him on the trading block- that would be an instant opportunity.

With guys like Shawn Marion aging- he would have been a good trade.

I would aim Carmelo towards a 1st round- top 5 draft pick, a semi star with low risk- high potential, and $$

An example of some players that would be great in this deal would be

Durant
DH12
Brandon Roy
Beasley ( a player who will be similar to Melo in the future )

See you need to look behind the stats. Billups and Prince don't have high PPG due to the fact of what team they were on. They have 4-5 guys who can put up 20 PPG on any given night.

But they lacked the TRUE go to scorer when the points were needed in a hurry. They have been too many times where Detroit simply went cold.

Now Denver will never win with out a good PG. I'm sorry, they won't. The west has too many GREAT PG's for Denver to come out to play with a washed up PG.

Detroit has their PG of the future already in Stuckey. Which Joe Dumars believes he has the same talent wise as Chris Paul and Deron Williams. Why else would he be shopping Billups?


Rasheed Wallace won't be traded. He isn't going any where.

For those who said this was a good deal for both teams - I'm sorry, but you obviously didn't read the article correctly and don't understand the NBA. For starters, the pistons made the offer, not Denver. Secondly, the dollars ( a big factor in deals) just didn't work out even. Thirdly, Chauncey will just overload denver with rejects from other teams, as will Tayshaun. Fourthly, Chauncey is no longer a 20+ points a night player and Tashaun never will be. Tayshaun is - at best - a second string small forward in the NBA. Fifthly, Detroit will suddenly have a glut of swing forwards - remember, Melo has played at both the 3 and the 4 his entire NBA career. Sixthly, combine Chauncey and Tayshaun's averages over their career and divide by two. You're getting less output for a longer period than Melo gave the nuggets last season. This is a dumb, dumb, move.
